I don't know why, but for some reason, I find reading about the actual sex act boring. I often enjoy the buildup, and I like reading about what happens afterward as well, but I tend to just skip over the text actually dealing with sex.

So is it just me, or does anyone else do this?

I do enjoy reading about the actual act if it has been written properly. I like imagining my pussy being filled and thrusted into or my lips being stretched around a hard, pulsing cock. Or being bent over, ass cheeks spread while he punishes me from behind.

Yep. Love reading that.:D

I never have text on the first date ;)

No, not just you...

I really only enjoy reading about the sex act if I am reading it to someone.

;)

What? Cote>? No text on the first date?

Rather prudish, don't ya think? This is the new millenium after all.

:D:D:D

Reading about the act is OK as long as ther's no written sound effects.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh!

Oooooooooooo!

Yessssssssssss!

Etc.etc.etc.

I don't mind...as long as there are not an over abundance of letters.

i.e. Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyygggggggggggoooooooooooddddddddddddd !!!!

Yes. =D

Actually, what I noticed in most stories is that writers don't take the time (usualy) to make things flow. They kinda slap in the obligatory imagery and cliche dialogue and keep going. When someone takes the time to write it _well_ then I enjoy it.

I read tons of erotic stories. After a time or two, the sex itself gets pretty much the same. I usually read the foreplay, then just skim over the rest, until its afterwards. :)

The actual description is boring...

Except if they're doing it on a Harley! It gets the swelling goin' on when it brings back memories which I can identify with real experiences! :D

Depends on the author. Generally speaking, there's just so many ways you can say "and then they fucked."

YYYeeeeeessssss!!!! These aren't as bad as perfect grammar during sex. It's just not something that sounds right written in textbook perfect English. At least not to me.

It's not just you.

I mean, how many ways can there be to describe intercourse? Cock goes in, cock goes out, repeat. Not a whole lot of room for creativity there. The tired phrases don't help, either. Every time I read an author refer to a vagina as a warm/wet/velvety vise, I just want to retch.

The buildup, the seduction, are far more interesting to me as a reader, because there's infinitely more directions that the story can take from there. It's also intriguing to me as a writer, because you get more of an idea about the author's personalities and peccadilloes.

oohhh there are so many ways for the sexual act to be described in erotica....

mmmmmmoans softly feeling the sweet warmth of your body beneath mine, my hips lowering between the warmth of your thighs, your body shuddering at the feel of me over you. My cock throbbing, with pre-cum dripping from the tip as it presses to the entrance of your womanhood, the large mushroomed head covered with the moistness of your mouth as your lips just finished tasting my shaft. Pressing down slowly, the tip of the mushroomed head opens your swollen passion filled pussy lips, as your legs spread even wider, soft gasp of air sucking into your mouth as you feel the largness of my cock, slowly inch by inch sliding down into you, your hips moving up to meet mine, your honeyed walls stretching as the length of my shaft fills you, pressing even deeper into you, till my plevis is pressing hard against your clitttoris, holding it there, letting you feel the fullness of my manhood......

thennnnnn everything beginsss.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I completely agree.

There is a certain author on lit whose words of both chaste acts and passionate get me so worked up, I have to...well...um...yeah.

I agree sometimes. Sometimes if the sex is written well, and I'm in the mood, I can get off. A lot of the time the buildup is the most important part. When I write my stories, I focus a lot on the set up. In fact, when I first started writing, a lot of my stories ended with "and then they had sex."

But also I'm into hard fetishes that allow for a lot of variety. I can't stand reading something as boring as the stuff in the Erotic Coupling section. Not just cock in, cock out, but cock in, dildo in, whip down, chain on, excretion out, slap across, finger in, blunt object out...
