Remember those old films where, right smack in the middle of the story, there'd be some ridiculous Hollywood fashion show, usually for no good reason? Except, mainly, that the girl the guy was looking for worked as a model and she was in the show? And often these fashion shows would feature hats that were a bit wacky? This "hat" makes me feel like I'm watching one of those movies....
