Is bruising necessary for a beating?

We usta get plenty of bull shit allegations of horrific beatings with no evidence of injury. If you swear Ma ran over the kid with a Cadillac there oughta be injuries NOT nuthin. For me, a beating is repeated strikes within one setting. Ray Rice wasn't a beating - it was one punch. One stupid, moronic punch.
