Is flirting a dying art?

I'm wondering if flirting is a bit of a dying art. So many people these days seem to just want to get down to business. They seem to be about the end game, not maybe enjoying the journey quite as much as they could.

Half the fun of flirting is seeing who you have some chemistry with, getting to know a person and then seeing where it goes organically. Guys if your under 35 and are a good flirt drop me a line.

Well at least when it comes to Lit. There are very few that like to flirt and so many go directly to the "goods." In person I have found that flirting is still out there and alive. And as of late I have been getting flirted with a ton. Hope you find someone to flirt with you.

It very well may be. I think in general it takes a good effort from both parties to tactfully direct an appropriate conversation. Sometimes things go too far too soon, and sometimes just the opposite.

I remember one time after a night of pleasant flirting, I took a step towards getting down to business and the response I got was "Finally! What took you so long?!"

I've noticed that people can't distinguish between simple kindness and flirting these days. Just an observation.

It's true, we have changed so rapidly as a society in the last 10 years, we are ruined by computers and the internet. People think you are a creep when you are trying to be nice, and when you flirt you rarely get a response. It's best to just say, the word flirt in a sentence anymore to let people know you are initiating it!

I enjoy flirting and talking about other things.. just normal converstation tend to open things up to naughty one liners and witty back and forth. Making someone laugh tends to do wonders

Flirting is a a fun. Hope you can find the right guy for you. A relationship without it dies a painfully slow death.

I think that can be true at times Amy. Although in person it is so easy to spot the difference. It's all in the look in the eyes. However online it can be hard to spot sometimes maybe.

Aww that's sad to hear a little. I think maybe over the years people are worrying more about how things will look to others than they are about relaxing and going with the flow. Never give up flirting, I think a lot of ladies out there still appreciate it .

Well then those people might miss out on some of the fun stuff in the interim. If you rush to the end game you may find that the flame can dwindle off more quickly than enjoying the ride to get there.

Flirting in person.... strong as ever. Flirting online.... too difficult. On a site like this you have to be lucky to get noticed. Of course you have to be witty as well otherwise you won't get anywhere.

I for one find most of the fun in the flirting. Its like fishing, everyone loves holding the fish but the fun is reeling it in. Wait a sec, does that make me sound like a redneck?! Lol... seriously tho, the excitement of getting noticed, the thrill of pursuing and in turn being pursued. Its where the excitement is! I wish it were easier to get that feeling on here but its just too difficult.
