Pizza meats are traditionally pork-based, like pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon. Ground beef is a popular alternative. But chicken? Does chicken belong on pizza?

Pizzerias offering chicken feel it's necessary to change the sauce, too. It seems to need barbecue or cream sauce instead of the usual marinara. Is that still pizza, or should it just be called flatbread with toppings?

I've been to places where they took their breaded chicken they made for chicken parmigiana and put it on pizza. It is delicious. Kind of like having a chicken parmigiana sandwich in pizza form.

chicken on pizza isn't exactly pineapple bad, but i'd rather you didn't.

and fuck bbq sauce on pizza. that is fucking nonsense.

Chicken on pizza is just an excuse to sell you a chicken sandwich at three times the cost. Just don't do it.

Besides I think it is listed among the 132 abominations in Leviticus.

chicken and kebab meat pizza with tons of cheese melted on top as well. nom.

I had a chicken masala pizza the other day. It was a'ight.

But it's really just pizza in shape only at this point.

Chicken on pizza is just wrong! Especially, Buffalo chicken pizza! That shit is barf! All these fancy dumb pizzas. Give me a little marinara, basil and fresh mozzarella, nice crispy crust, Devine...

Or a big fat deep dish from Gino's in Chicago. Nothing beats a sausage disc.

Our local pizza drive-thru does a superb thin-crust chicken-garlic-mozzarella number. I'd brag about great pizzas we've devoured around the world but why bother?

The secret is a HOT wood-fired oven. Our best pizza ever was made by an Italian couple with such an oven in southern Mexico. Four minutes to assemble, one minute to bake, one minute till it's cool enough to eat, mama mia! Second-best was on Capri. The worst pizzas are the slimy soggy ones. You know who you are.

Japanese apparently like creativity. Shrimp-chocolate-jalapeño-brie pizza. Iguana-okra-caramel-mustard pizza. Hey, can we get those as calzones?
