The last week or so, when go to the Literotica website, I have been getting innundated with pop-ups. My blocker catches most of them, but it takes several minutes of my blocker clicking away every time I try to read a poem, story, or even get into the bulletin boards.

Is it my computer? Is it a virus? Or is Lit stooping to pop-ups?

I emailed Lit, but so far no answers.

Help!

No pop-ups here. Lit does seem to stress that they allow no pop-ups. I hope it's not a virus, it sounds very irritating.

Definitely sounds like a virus. You need to run a program like Ad-Aware or Spybot (or both).

Regards, Rybka

I ran Ad-aware and Spykiller. I cleared 7 bad files.

It's still doing it!!!

Arrrgghhh...

You have inadvertently dl'd some stoopid pop up generator... click on <my computer>, then <add/remove programs>. Go down the list removing any that you didn't install. Hopefully this will stop 'em. Also, you may want to click on <internet options> and then under the <general tab>, click on the <settings> button in "temporary internet files". Remove anything there you didn't dl too.

Good luck.

I feel for you, I had the exact same problem about a month ago. In fact, the Lit banner that says, we allow no pop ups or redirects, if you got them, theres something bad on your computer , really helped me. I did have to adjust my browser settings though...

that happened to me just two days ago. Something attaches to your registry, that's where the problem is. Ad aware and spybot search and destroy did nothing, so I used my time machine program and that fixed the problem. I had to put 517 items into quarantine.

good luck.

Duh! No wonder you could respond to that challenge so fast. You have a Time Machine program! How can the rest of us get one? :D

Time Machine
That's shareware... Free ;) ...

but I do think the Spybot works too
Spybot - Search & Destroy
Which is also a free download.

Pop-up ads are a pain in the ass so I feel for you. I hope you fix your problem soon Cordelia. :)

*snort*<--- no really, it's sexy, you just have to listen correctly.

I replay you guys over and over, like it's groundhog day. :D

minions. :p

ok, cordelia. I have a program on my puter that saves snapshots of my puter every day twice, so if anything fucks up, I can go back to a date, where it isn't all crazy, set my puter to those settings and voila problem gooooone!

I tried the search and destroy bot and it didn't help mine either.

You might want to try system recovery if nothing else works.
