Hello fellow posters...or post-its......
I have been reading threads this morning, and decided to throw my hat into the ring....it seems that many writers on Lit who are well respected are having their material read partly because they are being mentioned here again and again.
Has ANYONE read my stuff?
Honestly, I would erase "Wildlife" and perhaps "Wedding Jitters part 3" from my credits...hindsight being so perfect and all, they were awkward attempts. But I happen to think that the psychological sexuality of SLAVE and DADDY FANTASY and the story build up in THE LADY AND THE VOYEUR and NIGHT are very good....and I would love to build greater readership here.
Can I get some feedback PLEASE? Thanks so much!!

Welcome

ladyphoenix--

If you have been reading here, then you've seen where you can join the Feedback Redux Peers are more than happy to read you and give you feedback. Reciprocate and you increase the likelihood of being read.

There is also a thread "Don't Post & Run". Writers are read not only because they are popular but because they participate on this forum. This isn't about being cliquish, it's about becoming familiar and giving back.

I wish new writers would take a little more time supporting others instead of requesting feedback. We have said this so much in the last few weeks that I am resigned to stop responding.

Folks say they have been reading, but the replies suggest either you haven't or you've chosen to ignore the advice we have offered here repeatedly.

Good luck.

Peace,

daughter

To build on the theme of participating to get noticed, you can use your signature to make it easy for people who read your posts to check out your writing (see my signature below or daughter's above).

For instance, after reading your post I might be interested in reading THE LADY AND THE VOYEUR. If you had a link to your profile or your stories, I would be one click away, instead of needing to navigate to the search page and look up your profile.

If you need help on how to do this, let me know.

Well, LadyPhoenix, you have two choices.

One, write stories that are in the top 1% that are posted on this site. This way, your stories will get read because they are on the toplist.

Two,write a lot. When I write a new story, it goes on the new stories page and catches peoples eyes. You also get repeats of people who like your work.

I guess the problem is that there are so many stories posted here it is impossible to read them all. No one is going to go looking through the stories in alphabetical order . . . it's just too damn many.

Good suggestions

Couture and Cyberguy--

Thanks for mentioning those. The longer you hang out, the more we seem to learn.

Peace,

daughter

The exception to the rule!

I think for my very first Literotica story (actually, my first attempt at ANY story!) I posted here, asking that people please read it and give me feedback. Not too long ago, I finally figured out how to put a link to my member page in my signature line. (I'm blonde... give me a break!) But I think that I have gotten the most feedback by going to Yahoo! Clubs and joining all the different clubs that pertain to the genre of the story I want to promote. I then post on the club BB by introducing myself, explaining that I write erotic stories about ______, and tell them about my newest effort, giving them a very brief (but sizzling!) synopsis, along with a link to my story. Not only did my feedback grow ENORMOUSLY, but I like to think I helped Literotica, too. Who knows how many new members they made when I advertised my story this way? :) Most of these new fans have told me they are just as tickled as can be that I introduced them to this awesome FREE erotic story site!

My feelings are this way: Literotica has grown by leaps and bounds. My little story will just get lost among all the others, and I hate the way it almost seems like begging ("Please read my story!") There are probably many people who would have a particular interest in the genre you write in. Find those people, and then advertise directly to them. Pretty soon, if your story is great, THEY will be the ones begging - begging for more!

Yes, there are people out here. It's just that this site now has tens of thousands of stories, more than even the most avid reader of erotica could possibly read in a lifetime. As for me, I write more for the fun of writing than for the feedback. Still, when I found a few stories that particularly interested me, I e-mailed their authors, telling them what I liked about the stories; all of them e-mailed back except for one whose address was no longer in service. Feedback is one of those things where if you just do the giving, the receiving will take care of itself. I noticed that other members have signatures with links to their profiles/story lists. So I followed their example. It's enough (& the best way) to say, "Here I am. Here are my stories, if & when you wanna read 'em."

hey,
thanks for all the great feedback....I need to spend more time in here, responding and conversing via the BB and not just expecting people to magically discover my stories.
I think a level of proactivity is necessary, and need to find the time to work that in to the process of writing and posting erotica. I have been sending more and more feedback to writers I like on the site, and hope that is helping as well.
THANKS ALL!!!!!

and by the way.......

Darlin, of course, we are out here. We've been looking everywhere for you as a matter of fact. Read most of your stories and they are wonderful; almost as good as the real thing which, I recall, was spectacular, albeit brief and interrupted the last time.

I share your distress; posting stories here is like dropping a stone in the ocean; there's a momentary ripple effect and then the next wave comes in and you're washed away. I have 28 chapters posted in one story and most of them haven't received enough votes to be ranked. Ah well, the misery of undiscovered genius; I will share mine with you, and hope that your endeavors here produce results for you. If you find any voracious readers with time on their hands, point em toward thescribe.

Miss ya, you sexy thing.

John

I hope I haven't offended anyone..

By requesting feedback in my first post in this forum. Everytime I read a story I send the writer feedback if I have some and I always vote on the story. It's the writers here who are out there voting and helping other writers get noticed and I think that is great.

And daughter, the current story you are linking to is great. I will be reading more of your stuff soon. And more of other peoples stuff around here too.

Thanks for your time. :)
