Is 16 too young to be in an erotic story??

Does anyone know what the age guidlines are for characters in Lit stories. I am asking because a recent story winner features a character that is 16 years old. I though this was not acceptable.

You're supposed to PM a moderator and report the post if it violates rules.

Not snitch in public.

16 is too young, 18 is the limit.

You should report the story to Laurel.

Thanx for the morality lesson, but it wasn't a post, and it already won, perhaps a moderater should have already caught it.

You can have a character of any age. If the character is involved in sex, Lit asks that he/she be 18.

Guess 1-

You submitted a story that didn't win so now you're finding fault in the competion. Don't be bitter. Learn to write better.

Guess 2-

You are thankful for the morality lesson and now look to me as a paragon of ethical conduct. Sorry, but I'm no saint. I'm just a man. Just a man.

Holy shit, I thought you were a chick!

LOL - okay, only kidding!

She does like 80-100 stories a night. I don't think she reads every word of every story. I don't think that's even humanly possible. Stuff that's unacceptable has been known to slip through.

If you would be so kind as to PM Laurel, she'll fix the problem. Otherwise, let us all in on it so we can point and laugh at someone.

EE, nope not a child, the main character who in the first few lines is said to 19, however, about 6 paragraphs later, it it written that she is 16 and does indeed engage in sex acts.

KM, went ahead and e-mailed Laurel, wasn't trying to be a bitch or hurt anyone, I really couldn't find the age guidlines, but I thought I had read once before that the needed to be 18. Also, I wasn't trying to blame a moderater, I don't know who judges, and or decides the winners. While I am not trying to make a case out of anyone, my concern was that this story was a monthly winner, and I was concerned about the Lit's reputation with all the stuff that goes into investigations of child porn on the net.

Oh, yea. I read that one. I let the author know the age limitation, though.

So the author changes 16 to 19.

And still wins.

Yay!

CV, do you know if the author is planning to edit that line, or is that something Laurel will have to do?

What story? There isnt much need to keep it a secret if it was deemed a winner.

As far as I know, the moderators are all human beings and therefore errors are made.

19, 16, sounds like it might be a typo. Can you get in trouble for a typo these days? Wait, don't answer that.

No, 19 is changed to 16.

The author, upon learning of the error, changes 16 to 19 thereby complying with lit rules.

And still wins.

Yay!

Once again, I was not trying to blame the moderaters, I was reacting to the hasty judgement made, when I asking a legit question, not trying to start shit. I do not feel the moderaters are perfect, nor do I blame them, I was just pointing out that this is a # 1 story, and if an error had been made, that I would like to know who to contact to correct it. I did no know if moderaters were involved in the story contests.

Its safe to say people can back off on teh attack of Kalyn. She didnt come in here trhowing accusations around.

Secondly I dont think Mods have anything to do with story editing/submission.

Thirdly its best to contact Laurel and she will promptly correct it.

Last, what story?

Thanks Daddy.

Actually, I'd responded and kept my window open without hitting submit for quite awhile, so that's my fault for the late post.
