Irony in Florida
Irony is watching a TV news story in Florida on election day explaining the new voting machine which is to eliminate the "chad" problem. The reporter used a card like he was at an ATM to turn on a computer screen where you vote by touching names on the screen. I'm already thinking older people who have never used a computer are going to have a problem with this concept. Then the reporter gets to the end of his demonstration of how "easy" the new machine is and hits the "register vote" button on the screen. Nothing happened! The reporter seemed very confused and the poll worker told him to touch it again. Finally, the "your vote has been registered" screen came up. But the reporter said he couldn't "hear" the vote being logged. The poll worker tried to explain that in a busy polling place, it will be too loud to hear the computer "click" to register the vote.
All the while this guy is struggling, he is yapping on and on about how EASY this new voting system is!
