Taboo Questions for 'Progressive' Pundits

A few questions that cry out for answers.


When did progressive become synonymous with pro-Islamist? How can someone who identifies as progressive possibly support or sympathize with rightwing political Islam?


Why is it progressive to believe that mass-murdering mullahs should be allowed to develop nuclear bombs and warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles?


How can people who call themselves progressive applaud the President of the United States when he addresses and repeatedly refers to "the Muslim world," a supposed nation united by belief in "the holy Koran," as he puts it (never simply the Koran), to a degree that transcends all national, political, ethnic, and class boundaries and loyalties, thus elevating a religion--in line with Islamist ideology--to the level of a superpower?
