Introduction

I've been lurking around here for about a week, thought it might be time to actually introduce myself. I'm new to the site but not new to writing erotica -- although I certainly can't make a living at it, I've been rather successful in marketing some of my fiction. I write mainly BDSM and spanking stories, and occasionally nonconsent stuff.

By the way, why isn't there a separate section for spanking stories? Spanking stories seem to be thrown into either the fetish or BDSM category. It's quite a popular genre; there are entire webrings devoted to spanking stories. Spanking, I've found, is not necessarily a subset of BDSM -- there is some overlap, yes, but not as much as one might think. Spanking is more of a relative complement of the BDSM set. The BDSM section has the most stories (or one of the most, I think), so it certainly wouldn't hurt to break it down a little more.

Anyway, I've checked out some of the forum sections and this place seems to have quite a lively bunch. Pretty literate and opinionated. Not sure I want to join a club that would have me as a member, but I've enjoyed reading some of the posts.

I don't post a lot -- to paraphrase Twain, I'd rather shut the hell up and be thought a fool than open my mouth and remove all doubt -- but I'm hopeful that this site will inspire me to finish some of the 30+ stories and three novel-length manuscripts I've got languishing in various states of undress on my hard drive.

I tend to concentrate more on character and plot rather than graphic depictions of sex scenes. I can't write "His cock sprang to attention" or conjugate the verb "to cum" while keeping a straight face. I do have a couple of stories up, with more on the way, feel free to comment if you have the inclination.

I rather agree about Spanking Stories, but I think that there are also so many other fetishes that *could* have their own category but don't that spanking would be down on the list...I've been wishing for a "BBW" category almost since I got here. It's a popular fetish, it's a specific fetish, people write about it...but not enough. I think that the majority of the spanking stories I've actually found on Literotica fit into the BDSM category just fine.

I'm with you and Chicklet on spanking being a distinct and separate fetish from BDsM. I'd kind of like to see sub-categories in Fetish as well. I mean, the whole point of a Fetish is that it's unique to itself. Shoes and Pee and Medical and Latex aren't all interchangeable, you know?

When I was a kid, I used to have hundreds of those little plastic army men. When we weren't dousing them with lighter fluid and setting them on fire, we used to recreate the invasion of Normandy in the living room (with a full battalion of Japanese paratroopers thrown in for good measure).
