Introducing Myself

Hiya

I've been browsing this forum for a little while and I think that it's about time that I joined in and became part of this community. And since I have to amke my first post somewhere I thought it may as well be in here

These are a few of the pics I took recently while playing around and trying to create some source images to use in my art. Most turned out too dark (or just naff!), but I managed to get quite a few which I hope are okay for this forum.

A few words about myself; I'm 29, single, a straight male, and as an aspiring artist I love the human body in all it's forms, and I paint very little other than portraits and figures and I've also posed nude a couple of times myself.

I know how it is, I have taken some pictures too but to make AV from them (am a bit to shy to make a thread with them anyway) and it takes time and couple of takes to have good results. But you are on the good tracks.

I very much enjoy the new additions.

I hope you do post more.

I'm not a photographer, but taking these pics has been something of an education (in more ways than one!).

I do tend to think a little too much, rather than play around and be spontaneous, but then that's the same with my art, which could be more productive and energetic if I just lightened up a little and didn't waste time worrying about details.

The other education in this is how flabby I've become I knew I'd put on weight, but I didn't realise how much (especially since in my college days I was a bodybuilder and used to be in fantastically good shape). I seem to look slimmer in the mirror than I do on the photos, though I know which is the more truthfull representation

Now that I've started this thread though, I'm going to continue it, and I'm hoping that it's going to be an unflinching record of how my weight loss and bodybuilding regime is progressing... well, we'll see ...

And as for your photos, Deja, if the rest of you is even half as good as the small part of you that's on your avatar, I'd love to see even a little more (even if it's just a calf!).

Thank you, Tia. I consider your compliment on my photographic work a very great one indeed as I'm a huge fan of yours and Django's thread!

Your photos have a real subtlety and immediacy to them, and are always sublimely composed to the point that I can hardly believe that they're not professional. And of course, you have a body that could make grown men weep, which makes your photos even more compelling!
