"In other news, more information on the two employees of the infamous Wayne Enterprises were caught after hours performing acts that are much too graphic for this news network The culprits are a Miss Harleen Quinzel the III and Jeremiah... his last name is still to be determined. Just a recap, the make in question was caught.....blah blah blah blah"

That was all Alison had heard. The words just seemed to blend.

"Alison Wayne had this to say about it..."

Alison sighed and clicked off the television set. She already knew what she'd had to say about it.

Reporters would never let her live this down either. This investigation would go on forever with them and frankly, she'd had enough on her plate. Her grandfather Bruce Wayne had died a few months back. She'd inherited all of his wealth (not that she needed it), but she'd also inherited a few other things.

When she was a child, her dad used to tell her tales of the Man in the Batsuit and only until six months ago had she learned that her great great grand father had been Batman.

Apparently, every other generation got the chance to be a vigilante. She wasn't quite sure she'd wanted to deal with that. It wasn't that she had plenty to do on her plate. After all, when her father had been killed by the Joker she'd already known she'd inherit the business.

Her sex and love life had been sub par, full of men who only wanted to date her because she was a Wayne and money came with the Wayne name, so that wouldn't be getting in the way and her looks weren't terrible either. She was a fit and toned brunette with those familiar brown Wayne eyes. She had curves for days and pretty nice cup size. If she were to be compared to a celebrity, they'd say she looked like Jennifer Love Hewitt.

However, she did take on the task of being the new vigilante. In fact, Gotham City had gotten pretty bad without one. She'd spent the time training and hadn't gotten completely up to Bruce Wayne standards but she was working on it.

"Ms. Wayne, are you certain you're up for the task?" The butler Fred asked her. Alfred had retired but, his grandson had taken his place.

"Let's do it." She said that evening, already dressed in her bat suit. She pulled the leather bat mask over her face and hopped into the bat mobile. It really needed a less outdated name, she made a mental note to change it when she got home.

Jared swirled the brown liquid in his glass as he stared through it at the bottom of the table. He chewed on his lip as he clenched his first in rage. He dug his fingernails into palms as he clenched his first. He lifted the glass and took a drink, the liquid burned as is moved down his throat. The burning in the back of his throat was less than how he felt right now.

He looked up at the TV as the news played, he saw the image if Wayne enterprises on the screen and saw the reporter flapping her lips about what had happened there that day. After all he had put into that company, after all of the advances that he had made for them. The way that they called security in and dragged him out of the building. The stole his work, they took all of his research and used their jack booted thugs to kick him out of the building.

He drained the last of his glass and slammed it down on the counter "Another" he called as he looked for the bar tender.

The research he had been doing into mind control and paranoia was starting to pay off. They had really made strides, so what if a few subjects had breakdowns. They were making progress that would would have ramifications for the rest of society. He would make them pay.

He felt someone sit down next to him he turned and looked, he was very surprised to see his uncle there. The original Joker. He had been Batman's nemesis and had brought the city to its knees several times. "Tough break kid" he said as he patted him on the back.

Jared smirked and turned back to his drink.

"I can help kid" he said.

"How can you help" Jared asked.

"I can teach you how to make them pay for what they did to you"

Jared looked at his uncle, he hadn't had much contact with him in his life, he had only met him a few times. He knew the rest of the family thought he was dangerous. Noone really wanted to have much to do with him, but they tolerated him. He knew that he could do what he said, he had the ability and knowledge that he needed to channel his rage. "Alright" he said as he took a drink. "What did you have in mind" he asked.

The night had ended slowly. Alison had caught at least three criminals. They were the stereotypical criminals, robbers, and murderers. No one in her grandfather's day had risen up. The joker had seemed to be long gone. Was this what her life would be like? Catching criminals like this was the police's job. As she pulled into her batcave, she turned the car off and got out.

"I'm done, Fred." She told her butler.

"Done, madam? You've only just begun." He said.

She shook her head as she pulled her mask off. "Listen, everyone I caught tonight were people that the police could've easily caught. Batman was not a police officer, he dealt with bigger issues than a person hell bent on revenge that decided they wanted to kill their wife. I am not a police officer."

Alison walked up to her bedroom and got ready for bed. She had decided that night that she was done being Batman, Batwoman, whatever. As of tonight the Legend of Batman would cease to exist.

The next week had consisted of the usual: her daily run, coffee at the local coffee shop, going to the office, dealing with new conferences. Jared had cost a lot of drama and distraction in what her company needed to do.

She hated him for that. It was sad too because he seemed to be so brilliant so that was a loss for the company.

And since there were a lot of Wayne Corp. She had to get busy.

She'd gone through Jared's research and pursed her lips. She wasn't sure what they could do with this product now. It would drive people insane, essentially. "Time to throw it out.." She mumbled as Fred text her telling her that dinner would be ready as soon as she came home.
