I'd like to write an interracial story. I personally frequent that category quite a lot, so got a fairly good grasp what type of stories are in there.

As a writer I'm interested in hearing what you like to read within this category. What is it that makes this category tick for you?

And of course general story ideas are more than welcome.

Personally, I like both ends of that story...black guy/white woman and white guy/black woman. In both instances, a submissive woman with elements of discovery and overcoming the old time taboo aspects of the relationship excite me. I really don't get off on anything particularly controlling or some of the more hardcore interracial storylines I have read. Typically for me, the denial then acceptance of the inevitability of the erotic situation along with very vivid descriptions of how the interaction progresses and the thoughts during before, during, and after the initial exploration are what excite me.

No new story ideas (I have to keep those for myself ), but as to what I like to read, I'm a fan of white male/black female stories. I love the depiction of strong mutual lust that has been held back, by the interracial taboo or whatever, which is then explosively released when they break through the barrier that has been keeping them apart.

Because it is so taboo I think. Black/white is more prevalent and has always been met with the harshest of criticisms. Because of that, it becomes so much more erotic to enjoy.

This category? I don't know. I've never read an interracial story at Lit. But, quite honestly, I personally enjoy the color contrast. I am a very pale white woman. I've had lovers of various backgrounds, but have gotten a little something "extra" from the visual of being with a dark skinned black man.

Current and historical tension among races. Blacks have contributed a great deal to American culture and successfully mobilized in a way no other racial group have. Of all the minorities, they are the most 'powerful' in a cultural sense.

I frequent the Interracial category a lot too, but it's rare that I find any stories I like. Most of them are filled with crude sterotypes that are borderline or even blantantly racist. The "dominant-submissive" element that's been mentioned on this thread is one the things that turns me off the most: w/f's wilting in the presence of oversexed b/m, b/m's that are constantly on the prowl for white women to dominate. I don't find that storyline erotic. Not only that, but it's written about in practically every story, making it boring as well.

I like the whole contrast factor that been mentioned already. All combinations are fine by me, although for some reason I find bm/wf imagery to be the most erotic. I like interracial stories that are relatively "normal" stories which happen to involve characters of different races. Since I have a bit of a fetish for cheating stories, I don't mind it in Ir stories, as long as it doesn't overdue it on the sterotypes. The stories where a white husband sits idlely by while his wife cheats on him with a black lover are ridiculous... I can't stand those stories. Finally, sometimes I read lesbian stories, and I can't understand why there aren't more interracial lesbian stories. That topic is severely misrepresented at Lit IMO.

BTW, LP, since you "frequent" the category regularly, I'm curious to know what you like about it so much?

My reasons for reading "interracial"? I've always been more drawn to people with slightly darker complexions. I grew up in a predominantly white surrounding and didn't mix much with other ethnicities. Then I went to study in the UK and met people from all over. I loved it.

Before I had never been attracted to black men, but I did find black women beautiful. Just never been much into really dark skin in general though. More chocolate coloured and olive.
Anyway, I got to know an African guy and we became friends. Then later on had a relationship. That's when I began to look more at black men. I've dated a couple of African and Indian men. I guess this is a reason for me reading interracial stories. Takes me back to the men I've dated. lol

Thanks for your reply. As to the question you asked, I guess it's more in the lesbian section... usually I'll skim titles and descriptions, and I rarely see anything involving ir. Also, I've noticed a strange trend with female writers (I generally prefer stories written by women): of the ones that write both ir and lez stories they rarely mix the two genres (ie. ir lez).

BTW, I found an example of an ir story I like. It's a very long story, but well-worth it IMO. It's got some sterotypes, I don't mind that to a certain degree (ie. as the sterotypes don't dominate the story). It's got a cheating angle which, as I said, is something I kinda like. Anyway here it is:

Well....SINCE YOU ASKED!!....I love the "plantation" stories featuring sex between slaves and masters...but the last time I posted some story ideas, I got slammed pretty hard by a black guy who thought I was being insensitive. I got his point about the issue still being hurtful to those of African descent, but thought he needed to understand that it is only an erotic topic. The irony is that I was suggesting storylines in which the black men cuckolded the white masters by fucking their wives and daughters. The topic was popular a few years back with the "Mandingo"-type historical novels (many of these are lumped into the "historical romance" section of some used bookstores I have seen...!!) and usually featured white women engaging in illicit affairs with black men...often times being mutual love rather than merely enforced lust. Sometimes it featured the young white son of the plantation owner falling in love with a beautiful young black girl.
One favorite storyline had a cruel, poor white trash farmer 'pimping' his submissive wife by forcing her to have sex with a slave in order to produce a farmhand (The husband paid another local farmer a 'stud fee' to have the slave breed the white wife since the farmer couldn't afford to buy a slave). I thought it was really imaginative (if farfetched) and erotic. As it turns out, the shy wife had her first orgasm with the slave, fell in love, and ran off with the slave. Of course, being a novel sold in mainstream stores, the sexual acts themselves were not too explicitly portrayed. I even wrote my own version of the story filling in the missing details and adding a degree of tenderness (the black stud, angry at first at being forced to fuck, empathized with the 'enslaved' wife and took pains to make sure she enjoyed the sex). One I haven't seen is a white slave owner 'punishing' his wife for some indiscretion or unfaithfulness by forcing her to have sex with a field hand in the marital bed (while husband watches). The tables get turned when wife really enjoys the encounter. Also would like to see a threesome with white master, wife, and black servant (either male or female). To add kinkiness, maybe the third party could be the illegitimate mulatto son or daughter of the master. Or maybe the threesome could involve a white mother and daughter who have both been fucked by the virile black slave.
Hope this type of story doesn't offend black readers, but Gee Whiz!! this is only fiction! If you read enough of the stories on this site, you're bound to be offended eventually! I can't stand "scat" stories, so I avoid them. I also don't like 'violent' rape stories ( but can get into the 'coerced' type of nonconsensual story). Personally, I'm sure many of my white European ancestors got screwed by the lords of the manor, etc. or were forced into having sex with the landowners in America (being indentured servants or immigrant houseservants), and I couldn't care less if anyone wants to write stories about them. You can write stories about my 'white' ancestors on safari or being abducted from a mission hospital in Africa being forced to participate in sexual tribal rites. I don't take it personally from a racial standpoint.
That brings up another good 'interracial' plotline. White guy is on assignment for National Geographic with wife deep in the Congo...they are captured by tribe who forces them into 'wifeswapping' with the tribal chieftain (or king, or whatever). To add an incestuous element, throw in a daughter who is going to be forced to have sex with the chief until wife protests that she is a virgin. Big mistake, as tribal custom has father deflower daughters. White husband is forced to have sex with his daughter first (tries to fake it, but women examine daughter and determine that nothing happened. This time, father has to cum inside daughter as proof of intercourse...or has to perform publically while chief and wife watch). Of course, the chief gets the wife (and seconds on the daughter), husband gets to enjoy some of the chief's younger black wives, etc. Eventually, a good time is had by all.
Other good "interracial" possibilites involves white bush pilot and researcher wife being rescued by Eskimo couple (after they recover, the white couple engage in a full swap with young Eskimo couple to thank them in accordance with Eskimo custom). Also like pioneer women with American Indians (and white trapper with Indian wife) scenarios. English sailors with Tahitian women. Japanese women with American sailors with Commodore Perry's fleet (perhaps geisha introduces sailor to new practices and allows him to initiate her daughter into sex...culminating in an incestuous threesome. Japanese WWII soldiers have sex with captured American nurses. English soldier (circa 1800's) stationed in India having sex with native woman. Crusader with Arab woman.
As you can see, I really enjoy the the interracial aspects in a variety of historical settings, racial pairings, and various degrees of consent. I do prefer that the sex end up being mutually enjoyable even if it begins as coercion.

hi LP...been a great fan of your writing....really think u r one of the best around here....only complaint is.....U DON'T WRITE MUCH ANYMORE .anyways if u r planning to write an interracial story then please try somehting other than blk/white....its been beaten to death . i guess its mostly because when u mention the word interracial the first thought that cums to mind is blk/white and i think since the vast majority of writers and readers are white here the author like to keep atleast one partner white. i have travelled a lot and love people with all cultures and background...think they are beautiful .would love to see u try something else. love the fact that u atleast raised the issue

In the U.S., you have a history being the demonizing of White/black, particularly white female/blacm male couplings.

It wasn't just taboo, there was a time when such pairings were punisible by death. Blacks were portrayed as being sexually insatiable while there was the dichotimous portrayal of white women as being pure as the drivien snow.

that image remains and so, couplings of that nature are still given a taboo nature that is completely out of proportion to the act itself.

then write what you are hoping/expecting/fantacising about.

it will work better if it is something you can get involved with.

Now I'm feeling inspired again, but just need to actually start/finish something off. I have stories lying unfinished, but keep procrastinating. I need a kick in the ass! LOL

Yes, I'll probably just write whatever comes to my mind, but I'm still interested in what makes the interracial reader tick. If I'll write an interracial story I have a feeling it'll be more like a usual erotic coupling style story, but with the main characters being of different ethnicities.

does a reagular story becomes more interesting if the characters are made interracial ? i think it depends on what r u looking for. if u like interracial u'll love it as long as its well written. but on the other hand if u don't like interracial....u won't like it....or maybe never bother to even read it. so i guess its all about who u are.
as for the power issue.....i wonder if its always about it. true there is some power issue but a lot of it is about acceptence too. being accepted by other people of different cultures and races make us feel good. true there is some tension between different races.....case in mind.....blk n white as we can see in the exchange between sirhugs and hooper_x ( sorry guys ) in the end its all about what makes u feel good......being accepted or having some power or both.

Well, there's something for everyone. Like you said, many peple enjoy the "cuckold" fantasy/lifestyle "as is". Some may like the interracial aspect, some may not.

And many people out there enjoy interracial to "celebrate" diversity and not because of any underlining "kink" there may be.

I've had this idea kicking around for a while, but have never got around to writing, but I think would be a bit original.

Set during the age of exploration, a professor and his hired man come upon an African village. Having never seen white men before, the people of the village are as curious about them as they are of the natives. Three young women, possibly sisters, are washing their clothes in the river and gossiping about the new arrivals -especially the strapping young man. They muse that he is strangely attractive, and it's a shame he wears so much clothing. The boldest of the young women goes even further, and wonders aloud what it would be like to sleep with him -dared to do so, she sets upon finding a way to seduce the white stranger into her bed.

What I generally like about this scenario, is that the women are the more aggresive parties, and the white men are the ones who are uncertain and overwhelmed by the situation. The balance of power is shifted, but it is still 'true' to history, and captures the basic allure of inter-racial sex -the curiosity, the taboo, and the contrasting differences of body types.
