You are correct in stating that a story such as this would do better in Fetish than Non/Con, but the OP never specified any particular category. I've posted FemDom stories in Fetish and they have done fine, although the views are much lower.

A fair comment. Fantasy elements do change a lot of the rules. (the snuff aspects of a lot of my stories would be completely unacceptable if the participants were all regular human beings)

I can't see how it would fit for Non-con over fetish. I don't know the non-con category that well, but I'd imagine the audience is split between women wanting to indulge rape fantasies of being ravished by a hunk (the audience radfems try to pretend doesn't exist) and men indulging fantasies of seeing women humiliated and degraded (not my cup of tea, but as long as it remains a fantasy I'm not going to judge).

I don't think NH/Sci-fi (and to some extent Romance) are that soft. They just have more of a tendency to vote the same way on a good story. Because of that the good stories can hit the 4.9s while other categories can't get close because their audiences are more fractured in what they want from a "good" story.

A lot of categories have factions, most notably LW, but many others as well. I think Romance is a lot more straight forward-as long as you provide HEA-
And let's face it, not much is controversial in romance.

I think NH and sci-fi do well because a lot of -for lack of a better term erotica "purists"- don't go there because they feel it doesn't have what they need so in addition to good voters they seem to have a lack of trolls which helps a story stay at a high score.

I really am a paradox because I do not like non con.
