Can it be prostitution, in the classic sense, without physical contact?

Is phone sex for money prostitution?

How about those girls who wear thier panties for a day then sell them? Or are they only myths?

Not to be a stickler here, Cym, but technically Prostitution is defined as the act or practice of indulging in promiscuous sexual relations, especially for money.

It does not stipulate that the relations have to be physical,
only that it need be indiscrimant.

So what are you saying, Bob?
Are the scenarios i listed above acts of prostitution or not?

The acid test is: Is the act promiscuous? Indiscriminant?

Hmmm. There is no actual contact in the case you cited, no in any i added. Does it count if the promiscuity is all in the mind and the eyes and the ears, and the provider of that indiscriminate sexuality recieves money for providing a "good-enough" sexual experience in such a manner?

Or is it prostitution only if there is actual physical contact?

This is an interesting question, and something new to the world in the last double handful of years.

Actually, yes, the examples you cite can be considered prostitution.

And as to the physical contact, how then could a lawyer prostitute heimself/herself, or a person prostitute their ideals, if physical contact is required for the act to be considered prostitution.

In fact, the verb "prostitute" is also defined as "to devote to corrupt or unworthy purposes".

No mention of money or contact there. The concept existed long before the legal statute was written pertaining to sexual intercourse, and isn't something new.

Yes, I think the litmus test is whether the act is promiscuous, with all that that word means. It doesn't even necessarily require money to change hands.

The only time that money and sexual intercourse must occur is if we need to involve a vice cop and a judge. I didn't assert that what the woman was doing was illegal - in fact, no discussion of legality was ever mentioned - I merely asserted it was prostitution.

Now whether we should try to legislate this myriad of acts (phne, vid, etc.) - ooh baby, that well beyond the scope of my initial observation :D

Shit! I didn't read it properly...

I thought the price included a home visit...

:D

You are a braver man than me! I'd hate to see where she'd put the credit card machine...
