i see the story section of the site is having a competition. anybody up to writing poetry for International Earth Day (20th March 2006)? we could keep it informal, keep it open to everyone and using any or all poetry forms. anything official in the pipeline Mods, or shall we just have a free-for-all? :D

anybody wanna play?

er, i mean write. anybody wanna write?

:rose:

I might have something already- one of my lesson poems for little minds. If I can find it.

either way you're gonna post it. you know you are. :D

hold onto it though and see if anyone wants to do anything specific. who knows what could happen.

if you don't post it i'll come and get it off you and post it. :D

hey, cool bananas with a grin is very encouraging i'll have you know.

I just jumped knee deep into my story this weekend for the
"Literotica Earth Day Story Contest"
"E-Man vs Octopussy" (humor)

I think this is a swell idea wild, let me know what you come up with as far as dates and deadlines <grin I'll scribble ~ sum' thin ~

I have a couple of poems that I am working on that might fit in here. Nice idea, wildsweetone. More people should be aware of Earth Day in a more hands on approach.

perhaps an Illustrated Earth Day Poetry Contest
I wouldn't put a cap on it but rather suggest photos with poetry
the power of visual scenes of the earth, woods, mountains and etc

I show Earth day to be April 22...
you show international earth day March 20th?

I don't know of any plans to have any contests or challenges, so your idea sounds good to me. :)

Grandfather ...

Born of crashing waves
in rain squall gusts of destiny,
fluidity spins
jaded thoughts of creation's
ageless tapestries.
Heaven knows
every teardrop wiped
from horizons of earthly sorrow
but, only nature still sings
songs of a better tomorrow.
Tis hard to believe in a heaven
or hell these days,
watching the waves crashing
listening to whales weep..

oh..its not here..or on the AH or where? dang If I could see better...found it..I hadn't being paying attention now...ok I fixed it... :nana:

I am reading Steve Alten's new book The Loch...it has a lot of info on sonar that dolphins and whales use and how much they can see with a click...great book so far...ty/I like rain in the summer when its hot to sit on the patio and watch the storms ...they wind was blowing in a direction during hurricane wilma that I could stay on the patio and see everything flying and churning ...was quite an event...sighs

LAUGHING.... I am currently reading..."the Pink Panther"
the new movie/screen write...very funny, I like humor.

anyway, I was hesitant at first but wild talked me into it, I posted my poem and as for critique, that is easy, they are all GREAT poems <grin

i wonder if i could write a poem about mud, or something.

that's kinda earthy, right?

who else is going to write for this challenge? we've got

BooMerengue
My Erotic Trail
another realm
blue rains
and me.

blimey
where is everyone?

I might steal Eve's organic carrot idea.

so we just post a poem over there and then we are done? aye aye I guess I should go read the rules....
