Stumbled across an interesting site that has tests that uncover unconcious biases in ourselves.

"Project Implicit is a Virtual Laboratory for the social and behavioral sciences designed to facilitate the research of implicit social cognition: cognitions, feelings, and evaluations that are not necessarily available to conscious awareness, conscious control, conscious intention, or self-reflection. Project Implicit comprises a network of laboratories, technicians, and research scientists at Harvard University, the University of Washington, and the University of Virginia. The project was initially launched as a demonstration website in 1998 at Yale University, and began to function fully as a research enterprise following a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health in 2003."

The tests are quick and painless, I promise. You can find them here.

It was unable to determine if I have a preference between gay people or straight people. I can't decide if that's a good thing or not. ;) :D

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for Gay People compared to Straight People.

Well, duhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Tis a silly test. I don't choose my friends and favourite people from the sexuality, but from what kind of people they are.

Sexuality does have a bearing, of course, specifically with women, but its not the first thing I look for. Generosity of spirit, compassion, sensitivity, humour.......they all come way up the list.....and if they have those, and are gay........JACKPOT !!

:D ;)

Apparently I strongly prefer gay to straight people as well.

Is there a category for when you get offended partway through the test with the way the words seem to drift together even though you "know" it's random. Ultra-hyper sensitive, anyone?

I tried the Gay/Straight test.

I kept wanting to place place Nasty in the Good categoty.
