I recieved an interesting PM tonight from someone on the board. Even though I am involved this has my attention, and is on my mind. Should I respond and if so how. After all it's only typing right?

It depends! Since we have no idea what it says, it's difficult for anyone to really reply. For all I know, it's a very courteous & flirtatious way to change anti-freeze!

I guess if you reply back in a courteous manner, I can't see how you'd go wrong. Just be up front about your commitment and let them decide. You can control YOUR situation and your level of commitment.

To some people chatting online is cheating, to some others it's harmless fantasy & role playing (actually ALL of us online really do look like Tom Cruise or Cindy Crawford!)- it's completely up to you. If you have doubts, then hold off. You could even decide to keep it more public as opposed to a PM. Options are yours!

I meet people online all the time.....even have met a few in person I liked.....heck, my best friend is married to someone she met online.....and she was married when she met him. It was time for a change for her, and meeting him convinced her of that.

My advise...go with your gut feeling.....and tread lightly...take your time.

You could always PM back and keep it at JUST PM's for awhile until you get to know him better. Why lunge right into a more serious discussion if you're not ready??

If a total stranger were to PM you and request a meeting down at the nearest Denny's for a late night coffee, you'd probably would say no. But it you to know this person better in a more "safe" environment and proceed slowly, it COULD lead up to more...but it's up to you and YOUR comfort level. Don't let the other person dictate what you're comfortable or not comfortable with.
