I was wondering if anyone had read Families Like Mine by Abiligal Garner. I'd be interested in your impressions of both the book and the author. I have not read it myself so I'd like some information on it.

I haven't read that one, but Out of the Ordinary : Essays on Growing Up with Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Parents (edited by Noelle Howey and Ellen Samuels) is quite good. There are actually several books about growing up with gay parents.

Ok, thanks anyway. Just wanted to get an impression on that one particular author since she was interested in interviewing me over the phone.

Guess I'll see what google has to offer.

She's a columnist in my local queer rag.

Seems like a thoughtful and openminded person, very sensitive to people and emotion in her writing, I think she'd be a good, mellow interviewer, it would surprise me HUGELY if there was any hotseat or pressure in her style.
