Interactive Story Idea

Heya. I'm new to this bulletin board and while I've been visiting Literotica.com for a while now, I'm yet to give anything back to it. So, I've come up with an idea (I hope), some of you might like.

This site already has some interactive stories up. These stories let the reader pick from 2 options and continue the story in the direction they want. When the story reachs a stage where there is nothing more written, the reader can input their own thoughts into the story.

While this is a great idea, it has it's downfalls. For instance, there are only 2 options for each step throughout the story, which can be limiting to say the least. Also, as everyone can give input, the story's quality goes up and down and the subjects change every few minutes. One minute in can be a romantic night between two people, the next it's a full blown orgy with farm animals in bondage equipment. There is really no continuity.

So what I'm currently doing on my own PC is writing my own interactive stories. They're written in a simple html format. They'll have as many options as the part of the story requires. Readers won't be able to give input, as the stories will already have an ending, unlike current interactive pieces which are forced to go on forever.

Now what I'd like to know is, what do you guys think of the idea? I'm not really sure what the best way will be of getting the stories onto this site but I'll most likely use e-mail. Also, what subjects would you like to feature in the stories? I'm open to any suggestions.

i think its a good idea. But also leave the ones that everybody can have input on up.

Also, leave some ways blank and ask for reader input for the next section of it

Read "My Daughter Jenna Pt. II" in the Interactive Story section - I think that's what you're talking about? We've encouraged authors to submit Interactive Stories in this format, but have had little response. This is why we put up the other form of Interactive Story. I have received a NEW story in the same format as Jenna, and will be posting it soon. If anyone would like to submit such a tale, we'd love to post it!

I think that this is a great idea. I agree that the interactive stories where readers have imput can go up and down and usually turn out bad. This way no matter what ending you choose it can still be a good story.

I can't wait to read these stories that you have written.

Thanks! I thought it made sense, since we have two different types of interactive stories, with two different audiences. This way, those who like to write on the stories, can find the stories more easily, and those who prefer the other format also know where to go.

A question: We have several of the reader-written interactive stories that are a few months old. Do people go back and read the old ones, or should I remove those so as to reduce clutter? I don't want to take them down if they're being read, but I don't want to keep them up if no one's reads them... dig?

Personally I think you should trash them if they get old because as some have already said, a lot of them are pretty unreadable anyway. But then again that's only my (snobby) opinion so you foloow your own groove girl!

Trash the old ones. But we also need some fresh topics that hopefully won't get ruined by jackasses again.

I'm for trashing the old ones, or at least erase what has been written since most are corrupted with unreadable garbage. I think a good idea for an interactive story would be to make it a celebrity type where people can add chapters invovling celebrities they fantasize about.

Okie-dokie.. We'll trash the old ones, and add a few new ones... Maybe by starting fresh we'll get some good stories going.. We'll see, eh?
