I'm toying with a story that explores sexual encounters between people of different nationalities. Predominately stories are white-black with some white-asian. What other mixes would be exciting? Latino? Arab? Indian? Aboriginal?

Does nationality/race/ethnicity influence how a story turns you or or not?

How about black and Asian? If they have a kid together another Tiger Woods could be born! Yum! Otherwise I've always personally had a thing for American Indians. (The closer to full blood the better!) Very dark black (not biracial) with a white person is a nice contrast as well.

I'm thinking of how the story would play upon cultural conflicts the characters would have and social pressures they face in reaching across racial/ethnic/national lines. How might an east asian woman deal with her desires and disgust for a man from Africa? it's tough to think through when i'm not from either culture....

I suppose I never saw either person living in/from their "mother lands". I saw them both as American, living in a world where interracial couples were no big deal.

It may take a bit of research, or asking an Asian or black person their own views on "crossing over the racial lines" or how their ancestors may have reacted to early bi-racial couples.

even in the u.s. it is still not always accepted. though of course it was some years ago, i used to have a chinese gf - her family was quite upset and when i met her mother, she was outright rude. needless to say, our relationship didn't last long. being one who currently lives overseas, how inter-ethnic relationships are negotiated is quite intriguing, it is that process and how a couple's own passions and desires are constrained by their realities....

do need to chat with some different people to get their own insights and experiences.

I agree with you, Voyage. It isn't that the people are of different races, per se, but if they are from groups that clash for some reason, or such relationships are forbidden. That taboo element, to me, makes stories more erotic (as does incest).

I enjoy the idea of interracial stories on many levels. First, there is the purely visual appeal of two people of different skin color together. It's a visual expression of diversity. Then, as you say, there are the cultural differences.

When it comes to cultural differences I can't think of anything more topical than someone of a middle-eastern background with a westerner. I have always found those of middle-eastern decent, or central asian very attractive.

I agree with you - in fact i'm living in the Middle East right now. Wow! some amazingly beautiful, and bold, women! This is what initially spurred the idea, but then started thinking of different combinations that might be of interest.

VTB, I'm not sure where you'd like to go with the story, but why limit yourself to just one man, one woman and two races. Why not a story with multiple characters?

One thing that immediately leaps to mind is this has great potential as a historical fiction piece. I'm imagining a story set in a middle-east port like Beirut, or maybe in Moor controlled Spain...a ship with a handsome captain, a devout follower of Mohammad...a beautiful young woman from western Europe....a multi-racial crew, including a beautiful nubian woman. It could also easily be set on the Barbary coast at the start of the 18th century.

Also I could see a story about a western reporter who goes to the middle east. She's independent, strong and beautiful. In the course of the story she's covering she comes across a man (Persian or Arab perhaps). As she learns his story she becomes attracted to him, but he is of a different world. His sentiments are not Western. They must deal with their attraction to each other, as well as the pressures of the world that want to pull them apart.

Yeah, but, in that case, it's not really interracial--or, at least, not to the level that Your Average Discerning and Well-Lettered Literotica Reader would accept.

AV image notwithstanding: I'm Asian-American. ...Which in itself isn't really the right phrase, because it implies that I've ever been to Asia. Aside from a tourist trip with my family when I was 14, I haven't. I was born and raised in America; I don't speak Chinese; I don't get flak for not dating Asians. To a very large extent, I have assimilated. Really, I don't even think of myself as being a foreigner. I think of myself as being American--and maybe even white.

When I date a white American, I don't consider it interracial. If, however, I date a white girl with a British accent because she just moved here a year ago, then, yes, I do consider it interracial--not because I'm Asian and she's not, but because I'm American and she's not. In my opinion, "race" is actually "culture." The question is not what color your skin is, but rather what culture you were raised in and consider yourself part of. Obviously that relates to skin color in many places of the world... But not always. (And, again, I am a twinkie--yellow on the outside, white on the inside--so my perspective is skewed. But that's how I see it.)

As to what combinations you could put together... Well, what regions of the world are there? Skin color (again) is not a very good indication; a Spaniard is technically white, but may have very different mindset and upbringing than a German--and both of those be very different than an American Anna Rodrigues or Herman Schimdt. Ultimately, the sky's the limit.

(And, while we're at it, here's a mind-boggling question: what does Japanese food taste like in Germany? What does German food taste like in Japan? How do both of them taste in Mexico, or India, or China, or Zimbabwe? "Ethnic" food always gets skewed to please the culture it's serving. You can get some crazy combinations going if you think about it long enough.)

I have something to add, being a person of color involved in IR relationships and with a significant interest in IR erotica portrayed in honest diversity and verity sans the typical stereotypes, but it'll have to be later as right now I'm under the influence of several good goblets of red wine!

Lots of interesting issues. From the personal, to the familial, to the social inter-cultural relationships have their challenges. I appreciate your point CWatson, that it isn't skin color or looks, but really culture. I totally agree with that on the personal level. But others, society, do read people based on superficial markings, such as looks and skin color. thus while an American of Chinese descent might be more comfortable with a white/Euro-American than a recent Chinese immigrant, most will still read it is an inter-ethnic relationship.

I like the historical idea. I've enjoyed reading some of the historical tales on here but have always been a little afraid to pursue it.

What I most recently was thinking was a black american and an arab - there is a lot of racism towards each other that might be interesting to play with....

Ir relationships can be interesting and it can be the clash of skin colors but as people have pointed out it may have something more to do with the cultures and some people from that culture believing the races should not mix.

Living in the states I didn't really think it was a big deal to date someone that was not white. I have always been attracted to other nationalities dark skin and dark hair have always been a turn on. So when I started dating a mexican woman from Mexico I didn't think it was that big of deal since I had dated italian, black and arab women. When I meet her mother she just about hit the roof and told me to get out of her house. Apparently the only reason a white man would want a Latin woman is to keep her barefoot and pregnant. If she got out of line you smack her to get her back in line. When she would not leave me the mother disowned her which was fine for me I have been married to her now for 15 years.

Black and mexican is another mix that there is a lot tension between the two not to mix. I not sure why but it there. So that could be another area to explore.

India is definately a ripe setting for such inter-communal tensions! setting off riots, feuds, and civil war! lol

I like the personal tension an individual goes through when confronting their own biases and stereotypes - how does a light-skinned north Indian brahman deal with falling in love with a dark south Indian, or an African working in Delhi? or upper caste - tribal combination... lots to play with.

To add a bit of spice stories between any ethnicities could be overlaid on any current tensions

Example.
1. A group of US soldiers are on a raid in Iraq to capture a former senior official of the old regime. As they are moving from room to room in his large house they notice the pictures on the walls of him and his hot wife. At the end of the search when they realise that the house is empty they discuss how they would love to nail the wife. When one of the soldiers discover the couple hiding, the group take out their frustrations by gang banging the sexy wife.

2. When Iraq invaded Kuwait in the 1st Gulf War, there were stories going around of the Iraqi soldiers raping the air stewardesses of the western airlines stranded there.

3. I’m surprised there aren’t more cowboys and Indians stories. After the native American tribe has lost the battle and their land. The Chief’s beautiful wife is taken as a prize by the white man. This fantasy started by seeing an old picture of Sam Fox nude wearing the full headgear (excuse the lack of native American terminology)

All the stories above could be changed so the sex is consenting.

I guess i write what I know and many of the characters in my stories are of different races. With the exception of the xmas submission "Silent night, Horny night", I didn't make their races that big of a deal. When I do write for IR, I try to not be so stereotypical that it's just silly. That means no white women stranded on the wrong side of town, no foot long black cocks, and actually try to make my characters real.
I would like to see a IR story with two people from two totally different cultures and continents.
