Kindness has nothing to do with impact, positive or negative. A wealthy man can do a thousand times more for society, simply by being greedy, than can a kinder man that makes far less. No man can become successful without his success spreading to others.

Depends on how the poor man " donates".. is this of his own will for moral reasons? Or is he forced to donate to a "charity" by his government?
