“I am trying to be a good person. I am trying to be myself, and if nobody likes me for me, that is their problem.”

-Evan Rachel Wood

"The question I get asked by religious people all the time is, without God, what’s to stop me from raping all I want? And my answer is: I do rape all I want. And the amount I want is zero. And I do murder all I want, and the amount I want is zero. The fact that these people think that if they didn’t have this person watching over them that they would go on killing, raping rampages is the most self-damning thing I can imagine."

Penn Jillette. Magician, atheist.

From another famous atheist, Bruce Lee-

“If you act like an ass, there will always be someone to ride you. It is best not to ride an ass in search of an ass. Or to ride an ass refusing to dismount.”

Authority is supposedly grounded in wisdom, but I could see from a very early age that authority was only a system of control. And it didn't have any inherent wisdom. I quickly realized that you either became a power or you were crushed.

Joe Strummer

I ought to call myself an agnostic; but, for all practical purposes, I am an atheist. I do not think the existence of the Christian God any more probable than the existence of the Gods of Olympus or Valhalla. To take another illustration: nobody can prove that there is not between the Earth and Mars a china teapot revolving in an elliptical orbit, but nobody thinks this sufficiently likely to be taken into account in practice. I think the Christian God just as unlikely.

— Bertrand Russell

Are you going to stand up, or will you just fall down?

I'm sure everyone who has some form of faith is now recanting it after this titan of intelligence has spoken. He's describing one of the original intents for most religions way back in the dark ages, but it doesn't apply now.

That's why I like Teller, guy never says a word, just does his thing, and somehow puts up with this loudmouth.

Ah yes. This coming from the guy who considers himself a gatekeeper for what can and can't be discussed here and makes sure we're all well aware when he's unhappy with our little threads and comments.

This is actually considerably dumber than the Penn Jillette quote (which is no great shakes either). And wow, took you just over twenty words to stumble into saying something revealingly stupid on this outing. Possibly a new record... but not by much.

I hate to break it to you, bruh, but you should've started learning from Teller a long, long time ago.

“My position has always been that there are two types of people opposed to pornography. Those who don’t know what they’re talking about and those who don’t know what they’re missing.”

- Larry Flynt.

When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean--neither more nor less.

-- Humpty Dumpty

“If I tell you I’m great, you might not believe me. But if I tell you I’m not great, you’ll know I’m lying.”

- Bruce Lee

Whenever you remove any fence, always pause long enough to ask why it was put there in the first place. - G.K. Chesterton.

“The world is extremely interesting to a joyful soul.”
Alexandra Stoddard

" Writing is a way of organizing experience and life itself, and the need of this is still present though an audience may not be." - Patricia Highsmith

“You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There’s a saying: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”
Master Oogway
