Inspired to Write More after seeing Feedback

So I've been dabbling in writing, mostly jotting down tons of notes for a novel idea I have. Recently, I gave life to two erotic ideas I had for fun and posted both here. The first one was in an odd format and I didn't really care what happened to it. The second was something I did in two days and I've been obsessed since I submitted it. When I finished the final edit, I knew I had something good.

Then it gets posted today and I'm checking every hour. I have a screenshot from it getting the H tag and I'm blown away by the number of views, the people favoriting it. It's made me tear up a few times, in a good way. I had to share my emotions somewhere and Facebook or family text threads doesn't necessarily seem like the best idea.

Anyways, the feedback I've had from just the read count alone has made me adjust my holiday plans. I'm going to write. Not sure what but I want to do more and get better. There was a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that I didn't think I'd feel from my writing. I hope this isn't in the wrong section of the forums and I apologize if so. First post here after all.

I'm grateful for the audience here and happy I could entertain several thousands of people with my story. They don't really tell you about this type of satisfaction in high school English class. Had I known, I would likely have gotten an degree in English instead of engineering.

Write more, you'll get better. Congrats on a Red H on your first try. I don't get a lot of feedback here... or anywhere else I write. Sometimes I question if I should just stop, but I keep writing anyway. Ultimately it's not so much on you and your efforts, but what the readers feel. I've poured in to a piece annnddd nothing from readers- but hey; erotica is easier than fan fiction... god damn philistines...

It can be a rush, can't it? Attention is addictive.

Glad it worked out for you. Hope for many more.

Positive feedback is motivating and validating. When I posted my first story, I was not confident it would be well received (In fact, I was rather sure it would not be). Ultimately, the feedback was very positive, and it led me to keep going.

Wait until you get the comment that said your story touched someone's heart - they happen

Congrats on the Red H

Congratulations on the good response and the great feelings you've derived from it.
It is a rush. It's nice to know that your words can affect others. You think about all these people out there that you will never meet but who enjoy your writing, and it's disarming and powerful at the same time.

Well, I had it and have the screenshot. It's dropped since, which I've found to be interesting. I can see how it can become somewhat of an obsession though.

They go up and down, don't sweat it. I had one that had an H, then got nuked down to 4 and now it's back up into H country. Now you know that you're capable, go get some more!

I do the same thing with screenshots. I recently had a story sitting on top of a category and got a screen shot of that before it got knocked down.

Congratulations. It is a great feeling, isn't it? I've also just started recently and I'm two stories into it, which have been well received. It's an amazing feeling to know your story has been read over 40,000 times and people liked it. I've gotten great comments.
