Hello guys,

A question about inspiration.
When a new story idea comes to your mind, have you ever noticed it is better not to jump on it and control it because that would ruin it or at least spoil its spontaneity ?
I find it very hard but when I have new ideas I try to let them grow quietly in my mind without getting too excited about it. I think it is better because that's how you make the most of your creation.

Do you agree ?

I don't pressure it. Usually when I just let it work itself out in my mind, it fills out nicely.

I have to write when I can. I've never heard of a story being spoiled by sudden inspiration, but I have heard of stories being ruined by over-thinking. ;)

In my experience, a good idea will get better if it's left alone for a while. A bad idea will be forgotten.

No, no I don't.

Since my ideas are but starting points for stories that eventually take on a life of their own, I just start writing. If the story is no good, it doesn't develop. If it has possibilities, I keep wiggling my fingers. Either it comes out or it doesn't.

Thats natural selection baby. I think the good ideas eat the bad ones just as nature intended

If I don't write my story when it's happening in my head for the first time (or something really really close to it), I lose interest in it. It's sad, but true.

When I'm inspired, which is a few times a day, I get it on paper and let it ferment as long as required. Could be 60 seconds, could be a year.

Thats exactly why i drink so much sugar each day. It helps the fermentation process see:)
