Original air date, 8/22/09, I have watched this before. I watch every program that addresses 9/11 and I wonder why.

I am drawn to it, even if seen before...why?

I remember where I was and watching events unfold on live television.

It is about to be eight years later. Pundits are saying the nation has returned to a pre 9/11 state of mind. Is that possible?

There have been a couple of programmes over here to commemorate that terrible day and I found them deeply moving, particularly the pictures of fire-fighters going into the buildings, knowing they were probably going to die.

I think everyone in the UK was saddened by the terrible loss of life, though I know some thought, "Now you know first hand what we suffered at the hands of the IRA!" though never so many deaths at one time.

Those terrible acts killed nearly 3,000 people on the day and are still killing people now, in Iraq and Afghanistan.

PS: Actually, over here it should be 11/9, but, magnanimous as ever, we Brits go with the flow.

PPS: The two programmes I've seen so far are 9/11: 102 Minutes That Changed America and 9/11: Phone Calls from the Towers, the last one I found particularly moving, to tears at times. :(
