insert a link.....

i want to know how to insert a link, to my submissions on Lit, into my profile. i either want it to show when my profile is clicked on, or to be included automatically in any of my posts. i am an internet neophyte, so i need this simplified as much as possible.

Copy the bold text in the next line

Got to your edit signature page via the userCP or Quicklinks on any forum page.

Type two square brackets: []

Paste the copied text from step one in between the brackets with no extra spaces.

Preview your signature and save it.

The text "My wonderful stories" can be edited to say whatever you think will encourage the most traffic.

For further information about using vBulleten's vB codes, look here: (from the bottom left corner of every forum page) "vB code is On"

if you want a nice looking thing like this

I mean use [] instead of {}

now if you want those stories on your profile then go to UserCP>Signature>paste the code there.

1. click on USERCP.

edit options> in the text formatting section>select the advanced text editor >save chances.

now when you type to post something there will be a nice toolbar..for pasting links with description

I've an notepad document in my hard disk named litlinks.txt
and I save my url link formatted texts there
so whenever I want to paste my links anywhere..i just copy paste it from there..
saves a lot time!!

You can also:

1) Type the text that you want to appear, e.g. My stories

2) Highlight that text

3) Click the

button.

4) Paste (press Ctrl and V) the URL of the page you want to link to into the text box that appears and click OK.

5) Click somewhere else on the text box BEFORE you type anything else. If you don't click elsewhere, your link text will be replaced with whatever you start typing because that text is automatically highlighted when you insert a link.

Or, you can do the same type of thing, but:

1) Click the Link button (above icon).

2) Paste your URL in the box that pops up and click OK.

3) Start typing the text you want to appear immediately, before you click anywhere else in the text box.

Do you just want the link (like you have now), or do you want the link to say something?

If you want it to say something, copy this, remove the asterisks at the beginning and end and change 'My Submissions' to whatever you want it to say:
[*URL="http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=892864&page=submissions"]My Submissions[/URL*]

In your sig, it'll look like:
My Submissions

mission 1 is complete.
but mission 2 is remaining, as most people here have the signatures disabled
so your signature will be automatically posted in every thread you post..but other members may not see it. [cause they disabled signatures]
so here is the trick:-

save the signature code in a notepad document etc.
and copy paste the code in PM/post incase you want someone to see it
also...for better advertisements .... post that code everywhere you post aka thread spamming.
that used to be my favorite activity

again, a million thanx. my link is now aesthetically appealing as well, and oh so girly....just the way i like it. any tips on how to change the color the link is written in? i would have left well enough alone, but y'all are beyond charitable...i figure i may as well absorb all i can while my cluelessness is still cute.

Did you highlight and use the little buttons above the text box to make it Bold and Italic?

If so, highlight the text again, and click the

button (but it'll have a black bar and arrow next to it - it's to the right of "Fonts" and "Size"), then select the color you want.

The code will look like this, without the spaces:

[COLOR="Blue" ]Blue text[/COLOR ]

Output:

[COLOR="Blue"]Blue text[/COLOR]
