Snarrrf....:( :(

I had a cherry icee...and I love looking at my tounge after eating one.....(silly me) ..and I noticed a strange infection on the back of my tounge.....weird smooth area...and fat round dots on it....these bumps are also on my soft pallet...Showed it to mom....she says its an infection....oh now what the fuck does that mean?!! How do you get an infection like this?! I don't go around licking piles of shit....or strange people's genetalia....so ....why me?

There are billions of germs everywhere on everything. Everything you eat has at least a few hundred germs on it, and some exposure is unavoidable. While sanitary practices may keep your risk of infection from anything down, it will always be present.

Get some OJ and maybe some throat drops and hopefully whatever it is will go away soon. :(

Transforming into a reptile?

I am sure it is something unrelated to sex. Just go see someone who knows and I am sure they can fix you right up...

damnit...

quit lurking...if you have something to say....say it....or get out. :p:p

*grumble*

i'm on anti biotics....for my "cold" ....which has stopped buggin me...but i guess ill finish these up?

If you are on antibiotics.. more than likely it's Thrush (yeast infection) which is pretty common with antibiotics. :)

Call the dr.. have him give you some advice.

Another question, antibiotics for a cold? Antibiotics are ineffective against the viruses that cause the runny nose, cough and other symptoms of the common cold. Is it possible you have the flu rather than a cold?

Ew! Thrush is treatable, but incurable. I say "take it like a woman" and go to the doctor before you overreact.

ahh.. *nods* green snot.. bacterial infection.. yep.. you need antibiotics for green snot and plugged ear..

Did your brother have this recently? Is it possible he transmitted it to you? could you have shared a spoon or straw or something?

yes....he had it maybe a month? ....i don't know about the growth period...
might have happened..yeah

I think is is probably thrush, too, like freaky. Just a little yeast, no big deal. Easy medicine. Always the possiblity of a little strep...the antibiotics would get that if they are the right ones.

Thrushes are birds, not reptiles, though.

Did you know computer keyboards are extremely filthy?

Hand sanitizer should be right next to every computer. :)

Listen to the nurse. Sounds like she's right.

Were you being treated with antibiotics for a complication of a cold , such as an ear or sinus infection, or strepped throat?

No, but unless you wear cloves you touch many homes of germs and bacteria and all of that. It was not an insult.

It's quite easy to pick something up and the wipe your nose, etc.

Especially public or shared computers. Like public phones.

LOL. I have a cold right now...I detest spring colds. I don't let anyone use my computer at home, but after I am sick, I clean my computer up and get a new toothbrush...

Hand sanitizer...washing with soap and water works well, too, and never touching your eyes, nose or mouth unless your hands are clean. I am fastidious about door knobs...

throat...ear...sinus...(minor)

Thrush is curable..

Thrush is just a result of overactive yeast in your system. Not a disease. Once the condition that caused the oral thrush (in this case, I'm willing to bet it was caused by the antibitics) has been treated, the thrush itself can be cured.

Antibiotics don't care if they are killing off good or bad bacteria. If you kill off the good bacteria.. the yeast goes crazy and gives you a yeast infection.. sometimes vaginal.. sometimes orally.

Call your dr tomorrow.. have him/her take a look and let him/her make the proper diagnoses..

Once you find out what is going on.. make sure you get a new toothbrush.. or you could possibly reinfect yourself.

yes ma'am....

I've told mom....she just said to finish the meds...(anti biotics)

Mom is right, you do need to finish them. But you also need to call your dr.. tomorrow!

Don't disobey me.. I'm a mom and a trained nurse ;) You need to get started on the treatment for the Thrush (IF this is what it is). They have lozenges and mouth washes that you can use safely with the antibiotics.

Also.. if you like yougurt.. eat lots of it. That can start to get your yeast back to "normal". If you don't like yogurt.. eat it anyway ;)

You sure its an infection? People have different shaped taste buds, the strange shaped ones are on the very back of your tongue. We also have em on the roof of our mouths. Could be? *shrugging* ..just a thought
