its a freaking HUGE problem here...but generally they keep to killing each other on the most part.
Centuries of familly tradition and honour get in the way of policing it, because no one in the community wants to acknowledge it exsists.
Plus alot of these gangs work for biker gangs, who in turn work for certain Sicilian enterprises. And as far as the tops are concerned they can keep killin themselves as long as it doesnt draw any attention to them.
Yeah, its a tragedy..and doesnt really have any end in sight.

The community here is very tight lipped..alot of them dont want to admit that their children are absolutley fucking evil.. plus we havent exactly had a peaceful religous community out here either..been alot of violence in the Sikh community as well

if families arent willing to go forward, becuase they dont want to be emberassed..and the community wanting to police its own..with absolutely no results..its just going to get worse

the image of the gangster is a seductive one..but these 'gangsters' are just mindless thugs.. plus a lot of the escalating violence stems from tiny squabbles which one side feels the need to vindicate..then it gets bigger as each side struggles for "revenge" from the last retribution

lol, no, I'm not a reporter.

Its just in the local news ALOT.

It seems there is another shooting every couple weeks involving those gangs... notable ones being a gunman opening fire into a wedding.. a guy geeting killed in the front row of a movie theatre ( shot too..could have been alot of other fatalities)

Plus their arrogance is outstanding.. they decided to go to war with some bikers last year..big mistake..one of the gang leaders got gunned down in the middle of a busynight club owned by the bikers...no witnesses go figure

As for a power base...the city of Surrey ( a suburb of vancouver) has one of the largest Indo communities in the world outside of the subcontinent...

Those idea go back to the sicilian vendetta socities of the 1860's..they began on the southern US actually...the sicilians were the only ones who gave African American people jobs then..and when the KKK came on their lynching rounds...the vendetta societies would wait till they were done and find the Klansmen and slit their throats while they slept

I'm in vancouver so we dont have much access to BBC...cant say i am a big fan of bollywood..but I have seen in the last few years a higher caliber of cinema come out of india...oh and if you ever want to see a great and funny Canadian movie see" Toronto masala" its a canadian film about the indo community, honest and funny

but there is his sister who is dating a white man..and thusly driving the family nuts

trhe grandma keps talking to krishna

there is a the adulterous bumbling father who is actually just trying to keep his family together
