I am posting this from what is literally the quad in front of my school. My home connection is dead until someone gets off their ass to come down and fix it and so in order to connect to the wired world I must use my school's wireless service and my laptop.

So, this brings up the question of appropriateness. Without the ability to use privacy in my actions, I've been publically writing my smut and using this forum. Not more than seven feet away from me is a guy with his textbooks and constantly passing by are the denizens of college nightlife. To each group I look simply like a studious sort typing an essay or looking up his homework. In reality, far from it. For the last couple of days, I've been doing the same in classes and in the lab.

Anyway, it feels funny in an exhibitionist sort of way to be doing it, like a quick rendezvous in the bushes. Do others who write their work or visit the site in public places, feel similar? Have you ever been caught literotica-ing in public or in the workplace? Do you have any funny incidents while covertly increasing the number of erotic stories on the net?

I'm free to listen as I smile at the bible group that's now walking past.

Hiya LC

I was wondering where you'd got to.

I was in a public internet cafe the other week.. felt really weird coming here with all the banners and stuff, with people walking past LOL

Couldn't get to the forum though.. it was restricted access on their PCs.

I hope you get yours up and running again soon.

When I lost my internet connection for two months there, I used the university's computer lab for my web needs. I wanted to keep Lit off during that time, for a number of reasons. I ultimately dropped by here to throw a post out onto the How To board to see if anyone could help me with a problem of mine. It wasn't an X-rated question or anything (more like PG-13, with strong sexual content  ). It did feel awkward though.

My take on your situation: if you don't have a problem with it, and it isn't a problem with the university to use their connection to surf a site like Lit, then go for it. If anyone hassles you, tell them to buzz off and mind their own business.

I often scribble away while on my lunch. Just the other day at Rubios I edited a friend's Rainy Day story in between fish tacos.

Now, reading a story for the first time in that public of a spot? Hmmm...could be uncomfortable.

But I've done a fair bit of writing in public, just on paper though, don't own a laptop yet.

LMAO as I read this. Half my fucking posts are from computer labs at school and I sit in classes writing my stories in a notebook that says 'Being naughty is what I do best.' with a cartoon bunny on the front cover (happy bunny, you've probably seen stuff with him in Spencers or Hot Topic).

I felt weird the first few times, and turned off the av pics and sig lines and all that, but what the hell ever. Lit is part of who I am and I don't really see a need to hide that, 'til it comes to my parents. :p

What kind of school has that lax a system of discipline?

I sometimes take my laptop to places like Starbucks to write my stories... I find myself sitting there quite aroused due to the writing, like I have a dirty little secret. I sometimes like to imagine that some cute guy comes over and asks what I am writing, and I show him and get him all hot and bothered right there in the coffee shop.

Yes!

I work from home, but when writing or surfing with the family underfoot I feel much the same.
