Inconsiderate Neighbor

I just walked outside to throw away the garbage, and I noticed one of my neighbors spray painted their stair rails two parking spots down from my car. Upon closer inspection, I found a fine mist of white paint on my red car. I immediately washed it, using lots of elbow grease and a scrubber sponge. I removed most of the mist, but there's still some left. Most people won't notice it, but it's my car, and I can see it.

It's realy not enough to complain about (and I don't even know who did it - I'm in a condo), but it irks me that someone would be that inconsiderate. Mine was the only car near the spray paint job, and I guess they thought I was far enough away. If it had been me, I would have covered the car with drop cloths, just to sure I didn't hurt someone else's property.

Grr. Now I'm in a pissy mood.

Jessica, I just finished undercoating spots in the wall.

COuld you come and finish the jobs please?

Mischka,

Take photos showing the paint that's left on the car then take it to an auto detailer and send him the bill.

They can use polishing compound to get the overspray off and it'll cost $50-$100 probably.

That's just it - I don't know who it is. It could be any one of 10 neighbors in the vicinity. I don't have any windows looking out on that side of my condo, so I'd have to camp out in the parking lot waiting for the person to pick up their rails to know who did it.

I'm in the middle of painting my own walls. I am utterly tired of paint in every and all forms. I want a bubble bath.

hmmmm, or you could look and see who is missing their stair rails
I forgot to mention - the inside stair rails. We have two story condos. :)

Man...that is hosed! Very inconsiderate!

I'm in a similar mood Misch! Grrrr! LOL.

It will pass.

Sure you're pissy, & you've got the right to be .

Thank God you're not stupid & self-absorbed, like the idiot who did it.

But you have me wondering about why you have a red car in Texas. Are you in the damp end of the state toward the Gulf, where there's enough humidity or even clouds to buffer the sun,
or are you in the dry part, where the sun oxidizes red paint with a vengence?

I had to do parts of four seperate rooms.

Oh for just doing a room with a roller... sooo easy.

And I cant have a bubble bath, cause one of the rooms I was patching holes in, you guessed it.

I'm in between. And whatever kind of paint they used on my car (it's a Cavalier) is awesome. The car is 4 years old, and still is as shiny as the day I got it. I wash it once a week, and polish it once a year, and it's held up wonderfully.

some people are just idiots

but I must admit I probly would have been an idiot in that situation 20 feet looks far enough away.

but if I'm ever painting i"ll remeber now to put a pice of cardboard behind whatever i'm painting.

I hope you get it all off saffly Mischka

Misch,

Go uot and duct tape a note to the railing complimenting the job and asking what they used, how they did it etc. Make sure your address is on the note. When they come buy to tell you what a "Dumb cunt" you are for screwing up their new paint job......well, you get the picture!;) :rose:

Rhumb:cool:

GM has a reputation for using good paint and good painting procedures except for when they try to paint fiberglass.

Fiberglass does not take paint very well and is so flexible that the paint will eventually crack and chip off.

I'm going to reveal my utter lack of car knowledge now. Is a Chevrolet a GM car? I assume a Cavalier has lots of fiberglass parts? How long is "eventually"?
