What lies ahead when Allied forces go in.
Whether or not the report of two pilots ejecting from a jet that was shot down and landing in the Euphrates river is true or not, I am sure it has sent a strong message to the allies.
It would appear that the Iraqi forces and civilians in the capital aren't interested in taking POW's. Shoot to kill theory seems to be on the cards.
The ferocious unleashing of weapons fire by all of those who in a mad rush swarmed down to the river shows how determined they are to protect their capital.
The Shock and Awe theory to me has made these people more determined to fight. The footage that was shown clearly showed that those who went down to that river were not elite Republican Guard or elite army forces. They were a motley crue of conscripts, citizens and even the odd grandma and grandpa. They all want to fight. Good luck to them. Fuck Saddam. These people want to protect their country.
