That certainly has possibilities ranging from tragic (path leading to someone's death) to comedic (Scooby-Doo-type chasing around whilst trying to assign blame etc) to touching (the impregnator tries to do right).

I try about the opposite in my latest (but not last) THE BOOK OF RUTH chapter, where Randy, whose sister and mother seduced him long ago, both have him impregnate them -- in the sister's case, she and her GF essentially rape him. Various other women used Randy as a sperm donor, including his wife's sister and mother and her (now late) best friend's stepmother/lover. All these women have other husbands or fiancees who don't know the truth, so Randy has lots of bambinos running around that he can't acknowledge. What a pickle!

How about the girl only discovers her incestuous romp has left her pregnant when she goes off her period and takes a pregnancy test? Then the story could be about how she and her lover deal with the pregnancy.

Either that or the story closes with the possibility of impregnation.

But that could be perceived as a downer ending. Downer endings, I've learned, are a boner killer, almost squick in a way. I'm trying to either avoid or subvert them for future submissions.

Just as long as it doesn't become a Sawney Bean retelling. For those who aren't familiar with Mr & Mrs Bean:

In this rendition, all the sons and daughters (and cousins, aunts, uncles, etc) are screwing each other (because they live in remote isolation) and nobody much cares who an actual father is -- except one daughter who just HAS to know. Because of their isolation (no DNA tests) she must devise some cute strategies. Something like that.
