And in my latest series the incest acts as a virus, slowly leaching away at inhibitions, even as family members are shocked by what they've just done.

When done right fanfiction is difficult at best. It requires a writer to do a significant amount of research about the characters to be true to their form. When I wrote CSI I visited several fan sites to learn the details of the characters and the environment, not to mention being a fan of the series (at first, not now). I mean anyone can attach a name to something and drive it in any direction desired, but to drive it as the actor would is entirely different.

"One Blissful Night," one of my earliest stories on this site, concerns a brother/sister relationship. I don't go beyond that in the story, and include a somewhat casual mention of the disapproval of the siblings' mother toward the end.

There is a temptation to write an incest story that goes all the way, including any and all within the family. I fell victim to that once with my 'Under The Table' and the resulting 'Family Reunion' story that remains unfinished.

It remains unfinished because I lost the passion for the story. It was just another wild incest fantasy such as many others have and not at all within the realms of plausibility. I've learned a few things since then.

The best way to write is to stay true to the characters. Give them at least enough depth and scope that you and the reader can see who they are. If the sister who was reluctantly seduced by her brother suddenly turns into an eager slut who chases down daddy, it doesn't ring true. Don't think about what you believe the audience wants to read. Don't think about that magical 'H.' Don't think about views, or votes, or favorable PCs.

It's all about the story. And the story is about the characters.

Now, this is actually an interesting idea. But it wouldn't work on Lit. All characters must be explicitly eighteen years of age or over for a story to be posted here. And if the son is eighteen, there would be no custody battle.

However, if the legal-aged young man is about to come into money, and he does not yet know it, then the seduction by the mother could be feasible. The resulting story would make for an interesting read. The son's bewilderment that his own mother would want him, and that he finds out he wants her in turn (maybe he's always had an attraction to older women, stemming from a subconscious desire for his own mother), only to discover the truth.

Some elements very reminiscent of Greek tragedy, there.

It looks like you have some nicely developed plots here, leaving enough of the "what ifs" and "whys" to the author that may tackle such a challenge! Lit seems iffy on the rape subject, at best, based on past discussions/debates we've all had on the topic and the site rules in the past. (i've personally never tackled the category as of yet to know from my own personal experience exactly what the site owners will let slip by!)

i do hope to see someone developing one of these two ideas, or both, into a story!

I don't really have a suggestion for an idea, so much as I am curious as to why the 'Incest/Taboo' category for stories dwarfs most of the other sections, in terms on quantity of available stories. I'm not knocking it, I'm just intriguied by its popularity.
