Lol I'm working on a m/s story but don't have much thought up yet it's going to be my first story

Creampiefreak, Good luck with your story. I've got a few stories up so far, but only one is incest related. This will possibly be a new one. I also have another one mostly written. Hoping to finish some of these up soonish.

Thanks I hope people like it. The grammar and stuff won't be the best.i was kinda bad at English, wasn't good day at all in when to put this comma here or put that period there.

Well, of course. As I mentioned in the comment, it's a synopsis. It's the kernel of the story idea.
Even a kernal should be formatted so it is readable. I see your wall of text and I skip on to something else.

Try separate squirts instead of one long run-on drizzle. A paragraph is a unit. This is a blob.

Seriously? It's a fucking paragraph. Move on then. Not everyone has so much trouble reading english. How should I format it? Bullet points? Jesus.

Thirty-eight lines is not a "paragraph".

It's a long paragraph. A stream of consciousness synopsis for a story. I didn't realize there were rules about how I had to submit my short concept piece. On a freaking porn story forum! If the presentation bugs you then don't read it and move along. The fact that you people took your time to correct my "errors" blows my mind.

They are letting you know that it is easier on the eyes when reading shorts blocks of type rather than a cascade of words.

If you want more people to read it, then you should attempt to make it more comfortable to read.

If you're going to be this sensitive about a suggestion thread, wait until you get some feedback on the actual story, you'll go crazy.

Edit: It's easier to reference when looking back at an idea of yours if it's written in smaller blocks of type, it's easier to follow in general and easier to quote when they want to respond to a specific portion of your idea.

Welcome to a literary web site.

It cracks me up when people call Lit a porn site. :)

Actually I have gotten feedback on stories and there have been some jerks. Mostly nice folks though.

I do understand where these people are coming from, but it's just....I don't know. It's not that long of a piece. ...

Reading on the internet is facilitated by short paragraphs - six to eight lines. It's what's expected on a forum for authors. Breaking this "rule" doesn't get you in trouble, it just gets you no respect, especially when you lash out at those who are offering their help. It's like getting mad at someone for telling you your fly is open.

BTW, you can click on the "edit" button and go back and insert your paragraph breaks. Just pretend you're zipping up your fly. :)

(The 'EDIT' button is down in the corner next to the "QUOTE" button, at least on my browser.)

Not jumping on the band wagon but...

I agree with Rubi and Hypoxia and Sikfuk, reading a large wall of text on a computer, phone, tablet screen is very daunting. Staring continuously at the screen without having spaces in order for your eyes to rest is tough. Plus if you turn your gaze to give your eyes a break then you run the risk of losing your spot and having to search for it.

Books are inherently easier to read because you don't have a harsh light glowing up at your from your reading source.

So, please take this as advice on writing in the computer age and not as a harsh criticism on your writing style. People manage easier with small digestible paragraphs than they do a solid wall of text. That's why the acronym TL;DR exists.

I shall repeat, and I speak for others: When I see a wall of text on a screen I shrug and look elsewhere. The creator of said wall obviously didn't feel it important to present their thoughts in a readable format but spewed it out for their readers to parse. I will not waste my time parsing such a mess. I do not punish the creator; I merely ignore them, for they have shown they don't give a shit about their readers. And on this forum the readers are mostly authors who mostly DO care about what we and others write. Your reactions indicate you aren't ready for prime time. Grow up.

I will withhold too much more commentary on the suggestions offered. I don't read Literotica on a phone, so it wasn't a big issue to me to read what I considered a not overlong chunk of text. Points taken. I probably did take some offense at the perceived tone of a couple of commenters. This tone perhaps wasn't received as intended. I don't perceive it as a "wall" or "blob" of text, but I suppose if I were reading on a phone this could be different. I do read a lot on the internet and sometimes on my phone and I don't know, but large sections of text don't really bother me. So I guess I didn't think it was a big deal. Apparently it is. I will consider this for future postings.

Welcome to a literary web site.

It cracks me up when people call Lit a porn site. :)

I've been reading Literotica since about 1996. I know what kind of site it is. Thanks for your condescending remarks though.

That being said, I wrote a longer reply to the comments on post and I get what people are saying. Points taken for the future.

I've been reading Literotica since about 1996.

If that's true, you've been to this adult erotic story site three years longer than I. Silly me thinking August '99 was their start. Maybe that's only true for the bulletin board.

Though not every story here is a literary masterpiece, this is a literature site. :)

Actually, I think it was probably more like 97 or 98, but I know it wasn't later than that. My memory is getting fuzzy. It was one of the first sites I ever found when I started seeking out erotica. Anyhow, you get the point. I've been around since near the beginning.

I wasn't trying to disparage the site or downplay it's literary merits, but it is a smut site in large part. Yes, there are real writers here trying to hone their craft, but I assumed, that of all places, the Literotica forums would be an ok place to be a bit informal. Apparently I was a bit mistaken :)

I do get the readability thing. Just got a bit irritated when everyone started piling on about the damn text formatting of a simple story concept. Was hoping to have more of a conversation about the actual content than the way it looked. Oh well. Sorry if I've been snarky. Everyone, have a great day.

Hey, it happens to everyone. :) You still can have a discussion on the idea itself. Granted, now you'd have to rewrite it all unstead of just edit. For what it's worth, I looked at the post on my phone, tablet, and desktop. The number of lines never changed, actually. But, that's all in the past.

Be well.
