It's matter of likes and dislikes I suppose.....
I enjoy reading stories in the Incest/Taboo category amongst others, it's just a matter what you happen to like or dislike. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of all of the stories that are posted on Literotica. I would be less than honest if I said that I liked all of the stories or categories that are out there.
I can tell you that I for one do not like stories in Noncon/Reluctance, Transexuals/Crossdressing and others. With that being the case, I just simply do not read them. I certainly respect your opinion in thinking that Incest/Taboo stories are pathetic. I would even go so far as to agree that some of the stories posted there are pathetic.

But I also agree, the excitement is likely with the fantasy aspect of incest, not an actual desire to participate in same.
