The woods of his home seemed distant since he last remembered them. No longer did sunlight seem to glance off the canopy of treetops. Hollowed oaks and dead limbs littered the ground. Faint traces of the past had even drifted this far, as footprints had marred the once pristine grounds of the woodlands. Legolas drifted a slender hand along his bow string as he glanced out at his surroundings from atop a rock.
He had to make his way to her. His slender and muscular figure stood perched on the rock as it peered through leaves and brush. A hand swiftly separated the leaves blocking his view to a small cabin in the distance. Faint smoke rose from the small logged house as he sighed.
It had been moons since he had seen her last. The seasons had all changed, he had changed, and he assumed she had changed as well. The journey with Frodo had been troubling; it had shown him parts of the world he never imagined before. Now though after it all, he wanted comfort and peace. He wanted to share his kingdom with someone and that someone was her. He straightened himself and skipped along rocks down a river, to where she usually rested to find her.
