Man has made the ultimate advances in space technology when a planet outside our Solar System was found to be able to sustain life and the machines were made to get us there. Artificial gravity, faster propulsion, and better craft would allow an attempt to colonize the planet. That was the USS Hope a 4,500 foot long vessel that had a vague appearance of the ships from Starship Troopers, elongated cigar looking pieces, but it could hold a crew of 900 people of military, scientists, and civilians for various purposes from agriculture, herbs, anyone necessary to get a colony to thrive. People were selected and screened over the course of three years and endured gruelling tests, but when the Hope finally left Earth went all the dreams of mankind. The journey was calculated to take two years to reach the Planet Terra Firma, but would be a journey of great exploration.

This is open to one woman to play many characters to cover the entire journey and colonization of Terra Firma. If you are curious or have questions, send a PM and I'll gladly answer.

Inside my small quarters I rolled out and lifted and locked the metal fold out bunker to the bulkhead and stepped into the tight shower and doused myself for thirty seconds, as much as the water ration would allow and dress, boxers white undershirt and sky blue top and bottom colored uniform with matching garrison cap denoting the military detachment onboard. I was Army, but everyone in their service all wore the same to avoid any confusion as the doctors and scientists wore white and civilians wore generally anything they pleased. As soon as I stepped out of my quarters, checking for my ID, tags, and Gerber the door beside me opened and out stepped a pretty, young blonde whom looked at me embarrassed but turned and kissed Clive, a towering black man, become jogging off. His night had been entertaining. Clive as known as a womanizer. He says that he never met a woman he didn't love, but always wore protection. We were friends and worked together, but we were more or less opposites as I was not married and no girlfriends. This ship was nicknamed the Love Boat, more appropriately the Shag Boat if the press fully understood what was happening. To ensure colonization there were children and younger folks onboard, but they were kept in the civilian section on the top five decks as us were on the lower five, and freed us of their meddling. Clive and myself were part of the security detachment for the entire vessel, thus we met the civilians every day and they did not like the military constantly around, giving them orders. However, my relationship with them was much warm compared to the rest of the detail, even Clive. He couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants when it came to the fine ladies.

Reporting in to the duty sergeant the shifts were rotated. The time was 0800 and to keep everyone’s body clocks proper all lights were doused except on the bridge and essential sections. Receiving my sidearm and signing in Clive joined me soon after having taken his shower. We were to patrol all five decks of the military and make sure everyone was in line. This was considered mundane as most of the real action was on the top five decks.

We were the security detail on the bottom five decks of this vessel, and it was mundane considering the detail that was with civilians. It seemed every day they were locking someone in teh brig over petty offenses, usually they were drunk. Alcohol was allowed onboard to keep everyone happy, but it was regulated, but that did not stop alot of people from smuggling it onboard when we left Earth. I knew this because it was my job to sort through their luggage for contraband, but me being a nice guy allowed alot of it come onboard anyway, except for people I knew were going to cause trouble. There were two hundred officers and enlisted from all branches of service and MOS. We were going to need everyone for this effort to get a colony running and keeping it safe and there was alot of talk of having visitors.

April Marie Harper
Age 26
Height 5'2
Weight 108
Pixy cut short black hair
green eyes
Physically fit, small build, delicate doll like features, no scars, a left nostril piercing, no tattoos.

Pale green eyes staring into an identical set, April stood in front of the mirror in her tiny bathroom, in her tiny living quarters, aboard a ship headed to a whole new world. Not the Disney, fairytale version, but a literal whole new world. A world yet to be colonized, or even explored. It was really an exciting idea…
At first.

That was back when she was sweet talking her onto the ship, thinking that it would be some amazing experience and a chance to get away from the boring everyday routine she called a life back on earth. Little did she know, this trip would become much of the same, only now, she was in much more confined area with no way of getting out. Yeah, she really didn’t think it through much.

Originally, they did not want to let her on at all, and she should have taken that as a sign. She was, in their terms, unremarkable. She applied as a nurse, a fairly new nurse, but a nurse nonetheless; to which they responded ‘they’re a dime a dozen,’ and turned her away.

At that point, desperate to get aboard, she applied once again, this time with a plan of attack. She was going to hit them with the facts, and a few she had left out the first time. “Look, you want to start a new planet, and I am the type of girl you want to have there. I’m young, I’m cute, I’m healthy and I’m fertile. I’m agile and quick on my feet. I’m a licensed nurse and once upon a time ago, I got a wild hair up my ass and thought it would be awesome to be a licensed mental health counselor that was before I became a nurse and back when I thought People would take me seriously. That was before I realized that when you look no older than 18, not many people believe you when you say you’re there to help. Anyway, on a two year trip on an enclosed vessel, you’re guaranteed two things; First, people are going to get ill. And second, people are bound to go stir-crazy. If I can help with both, why not knock out two birds with one stone?”

Apparently, her speaking up was just what they needed to hear and decided to put her though the rest of the tests, which she obviously passed. When she first boarded the ship, she was told to mingle and help where needed. They said she would be used for those members of the crew who refused to go to an actual psychologist and they would call on her when needed. She was told to use her skills under the guise of the friendly girl at the bar who liked to listen and gave out advice. She shrugged and took the job.

Drawing in a deep breath, April lifted her hand and ran it back through her short black hair, then glanced at her watch. “I suppose it’s time to go see what trouble I can get into.” She smiled at her own words, as she moved to grab her jacket then exited her living area en rout for the main deck.

Same faces, same duties. Two year journey. Sure we were going at near light speed but that was not fast enough. As military we were constantly kept busy unlike the civilians above thus we were not subjected to as many cases of 'stir crazy' or 'cabin fever' though there was always the problem of drinking. Drugs not so much as there was no way to grow without getting caught. If any were brought onboard they would have been used up already. Clive continued to move behind me as we reached the large, open, gym area where many were performing PT and there were many fine young women working out that Clive was salivating as we proceeded through on our route. Nothing serious but we usually kept this for appearance sake. I was glad that they teams me with someone like Clive as my shorter self could not yell as loudly as he could nor the intimidating stature. Sector by sector we cleared with people making way for us to squeeze by with the path barely big enough for a heavy set man to squeeze through and the knee knockers having to be stepped over as we entered each section.

With relative freedom, not really having a specific job aboard the USS Hope, April was not in a rush to get anywhere specific, and thus carried on at a leisured pace, in a vague direction of food. She figured that was the best way to start the day, and after that she would find something or someone else to do or bother. As she carried on, she let her mind wander to unimportant things and a lot of wishful thinking.

In the midst of her thoughts, however, she was rudely brought back to reality when the familiar sound of heavy feet moving in unison echoed down the corridor. Eyes suddenly wide, her head snapped up and she looked behind her only to find the blue team marching down the hallway in their cute matching uniforms, looking about ready to bumrush anyone out of their way. “Son of a bitch.” She mumbled halfheartedly as she looked back in front of her, and found nothing but a long stretch of hallway, with nowhere to really go.

“Next time, April, you take a different route to go to breakfast.” She spoke softly as she arrived at a small window area, where the hall temporarily widened. Stopping, she pressed her back to the window and attempted to take up as little room as possible as she waited for the group to pass.

Going through the corridors, for this this big they could not aquire large hallways? The quarters for a married family were that a large apartment in New York and I get a room with just enough room to lay down in and stretch and a shower that I scrape my elbow trying to turn around and hallways we either bang out heads or feet into. Clive had the worst of it but we went through section after section heading towards the mess hall where the aroma of liquid eggs hovered in the air. In our journey we carried live animals, but to keep a crew this big full we had to use artifical stuff to keep up the health of the crew, that meant liquid eggs. After awhile your body became use to it which is why I brought my own brand of hot sauce to keep a flavor to it.

As we neared the mess hall I suddenly stopped in my tracks and Clive bumped into me and looked down, "What's wrong, man?" My nose was tingling for some reason. There was something different in our spot. I couldn't quite understand, it wasn't some exotic perfume or anything, but something was definately amiss here and my eyes were looking around trying to find the source. See my eyes wander around the corridor Clive turned about and did the same.

Taking a few steps forward there was a large wall rack full of janitor supplies. GEtting closer my weapon hand was tracing the grip of my pistol as my heart began to race, "You there! come out!" I barked. Who are you?" I asked as Clive bent over at the waist to look over my shoulder at this person. She did not seem familiar, then again we had so many people onboard.

As the group quickly moved closer, April kept her head down and focused on a spot on the ground to keep her attention as she waited for the hallway to be freed up once again. For the most part, she was rather quiet and attempted to blend into the background as much as possible when around anyone of authority. It was just a defense mechanism, much in the mind set of if I pretend you’re not there, then maybe you won’t see me and let me be. Most of the time it worked, this time however…

April’s head snapped up as soon as the military man barked at her, causing a shudder to run through her body. Bottom lip trapped between her teeth, big green eyes immediately focused on the gun the man was carrying on him, then finally up to his face. “I uhm- I’m April. Ah- April h-Harper.” She choked out, as she took a timid step forward then pointed off down the hall. “I ah live down there… Well, I mean section 7 of the 4th level…I was just uhm.. headed to breakfast.” She rattled off softly, then pouted a little suddenly scared that she did something wrong. She hadn’t ever gotten in trouble for being down any of the other halls.

After a moment, April glanced to the large man behind the one who barked at her. Him she recognized. She didn’t know him personally. But, a friend of hers had point him out to her after having spent a “Wild” night with him. The guy in front of her though, she had never really noticed before.

"Let me see your ID," I said as Clive kept a wild glare at her. She was very good at hiding, if my nose didn't pick up something then I might have overlooked this Ms. Harper hiding in the corner. Normally the civlians, or civvies, onboard this vessel were very anal about taking directions from any military, but fortunately this one did not seem to be so uptight with that pouty look on her face. It would be so adorable if we were not on duty and trying to keep order. She was young, fresh looking face with spiky black hair, obviously civilian with a piercing.

Behind me and over my shoulder I could feel Clive's menacing glare as he was trying to dress down this Ms. Harper with his eyes, all to keep the person feeling that they were helpless, but he would not do anything to manhandler her unless she had become violent, which was extremely rare. The aroma of the eggs was growing as the cook was fixing the breakfast and it was being pumped inside the AC units to rouse the crew that slept in late that it was time for breakfast. We were going to be caught up in the line if we did not wrap this up, but I could not over look anything. If she was a stowaway and she escaped then it would be my hide.

April was still for a long moment, before she realized that the man had issued her an order. In her head, she was momentarily flooded with the ‘what if’ aspect of her current situation. There were a number of things that could potentially happen to her and only one of them was a pretty sight. Once the man’s statement had registered, she nodded quickly, and then reached to her side for her bag to get her id… Her gaze quickly followed to the empty space and she swallowed hard. “Fuck.” She muttered softly, eyes wide as panic began to set in. She remembered her jacket but not her bag. Nice.

A soft nervous laugh, she glanced back up at the man. “I uh… I must have left it back in my dorm…” She hummed as her hand roamed in and out of her pockets in small hopes of finding it stuffed somewhere. “I-if you would just let me go get it. It’ll tell you exactly wh-who I am.” She purred soft and coyly in hopes of appealing to his softer side.

Clive was looking her over and I was trying to be stern though I was not a hard ass like many others on my shift, and we were too far into the mission to turn around and drop her off and we didn't eject people into space, as Sgt. Mcgregor, one of shift sergeants would love to tase thouse that had committed some moderate offenses that would keep them in the brig for longer periods of time that the verdict was to shoot them out. No one would miss them anyway.

Wanting to get this whole thing over with so I could get some breakfast I nodded, "Okay, fine, take us to your room and let us see your ID and we can get this over with." Though I wanted to smile, I couldn't. I had to remain strong and stern to show that I was in control, but I wouldn't beat this woman. It has happened where people forgot their ID. I would lead the way back to her room and Clive would bring up the rear with Ms. Harper in the middle so that she could not make a run for it.

As much as I did not like having Clive this close to a woman he would be savoring the sight of her backside for the entire length of the journey, "No funny ideas," giving him a nudge with the elbow to his ribs as we got underway. Ms. Harper was pretty looking, taking a great deal of care for herself, even the hair and the eyes which were very appealing. IF we were caught up in breakfast then I would have asked to sit next to her and chat, again, IF we had met in a nother place.

When the soldier before her agreed to let her get ID from her room, April let out a soft breath she hadn’t even been aware she had been holding until that moment. She had been certain they were going to give her a hard time, if for no other reason other than the fact that they could. She had heard plenty of stories for others, mostly women, who claimed that the military boys liked to abuse their power a bit when they thought they could get away with it. So, you could see how someone, especially of such small stature, would fear the worst.

“Right, okay.” April nodded as she quickly turned and set off back down the hall towards her room. Before she managed to get too far, however, she found herself stuck walking between the two men. Her brow furrowed slightly, she wondered briefly just how she was supposed to lead them to her room if she was stuck following a man who didn’t even seem to believe that she was a civilian. It didn’t make much sense to her, but she was opted to stay quiet for the time being.

Her silence only lasted a short while, though. It only lasted until she felt the presence of man walking behind her get closer. Turning her head just slightly, she glanced back at him then looked forward once again, and forced down another hard swallow. He hasn’t touched her or anything; he was just a bit close for comfort. “I’d like to point out that I am insanely uncomfortable being stuck walking between two guys I don’t know.” April voiced, not in a defiant way, but more just stating a fact. She hoped that maybe one of the two men would catch her drift and give her some space, if not let her actually lead the way.

"Too bad," Clive responded rather coldly. He did not fear this woman and was not doing anything to physically harm her and she was not out of control so, in his eyes, he was not doing anything wrong that needed to be changed other than she was uncomfortable. His face, the dark brown with bright white eyes and thin lips, the glowing white teeth were covered for he was keeping a serious demeanour as we progressed through. Clive was the muscle and I was the brains and to keep her at ease that we would not harm her I said calmly, "Ms. Harper, we're just going to look at your ID. It's just our protocol. That's all." There were many wild rumors flying around, perhaps she had heard of them, that we were Stormtroopers keeping everyone in line through force and intimidation. Clive and I certainly did not use force unless it was needed and we were only in a few fights and that was because boozed up civilians started it, but I did not mention this to Ms. Harper.

I did not want to harm her, nor did I intend to as I kept looking at the plaques on the doors as we went by listing the last names of the peole that lived in them and wondered if the civilian single living quarters were the same as ours.

Pausing and looking back at Ms. Harper, "Which one is your quarters?" asking not demanding to know. We get to see the ID and we go away and that would be the end of of it with us telling, "Keep you ID card with you at all times." It was silly given we were on a ship and not a city, but the codes for living on this vessel were that everyone, regardless of rank or position, carry their cards at all times.

“Too bad.” April echoed softly under her breath, rolling her eyes at the cold words. It wasn’t so much that she was being disrespectful as much as she was ticked by the inconsideration. The man did not have to reply to her statement, he could have just ignored her and stuck to his intimidation, but no he had to respond. If the situation had been different, she probably would have made a snide remark in return, but before for the words even made it to her mouth, she quickly remembered that she was outnumbered and the flames inside her fizzled out.

Letting out a sharp sigh through her nose, April looked back at the ground as she continued walking, lips pursed as she lapsed back into her thoughts. The words of the man leading her down the hallway were more or less lost on her. She heard keywords like ID and protocol, but she didn’t pay much mind to them.

Luckily for them, April returned to paying attention just as the man leading their little pact came to a stop. Blinking slowly, she glanced up at the back of his head as he ask her which room was hers. Glancing around at the doors beside them, she noticed that they were out of the family sector, as evident by the plaques on the doors, which had changed from displaying family names to simply showing numbers, because, as a single civilian with no real position, that’s all she was. April did her best to hide the little smirk that tugged at the corners of her lips, but it didn’t work as well as one would hope. “Thought you knew where you were going… Isn’t that why you took lead?” She asked, her voice oddly innocent sounding.

Clive snickered into his clenched hand as I signed and looked at my surroundings realizing that she was right. we were entirely in teh wrong area and we would have to go back, "Fine, where are your quarters, Ms Parker" my eyes now looking at her in slight frustration. I wanted this to be over with so that we can get some breakfast. Operating on a empty stomach was not the best thing to do as I'm now suffering from a hunger headache and pursing my own lips and looking at Clive then back down at the shorter Ms Parker my eyes were turning itnoa scowl but did not say anything more out of fear that I would say something I would regret.

Leaning foward Clive whispered, "Girl, just tell us where otherwise he'll get crazy. It's funny to watch but I have to put up with him all day, so just kindly tell us where you live," using his wit and charm to sooth the situation between the three of us. Clive though enjoyed being with Ms Parker as if it were just him he would be using more talk with this woman than anything else and not have her lead him back to her quarters for the ID card.

Hearing a muffled snickering from behind her, April arched a delicate brow and turned just enough to look at the massive man behind her. She hadn’t really expected much of a response to her, much less clear amusement- She was thrown for a bit of a loop to say the least… But that was nothing in comparison to what was to come…

Licking her bottom lip, the little nurse, turned her attention back to the man before her. And, as he finally broke down as asked her where her room was, she suddenly noticed just how exasperated he seemed to have become in the short time they had been together. Eyes roaming over the scowl on his face, she bit back an evil little smile. Was she really that infuriating?

Just as she was opening her mouth to respond, the intimidator behind her spoke up once again, this time in soft whispers. “Oh, no.” April shook her head, as she held up a finger to the man and shook it much like she was scolding a child. “You do not suddenly get to play nice guy and ask for my help. That’s not how this works.” She informed him, rather matter-of-factly, not buying into his charm. “If he goes crazy, that’s not my fault. You two were the ones who decided to bother me. You were also the ones who ‘needed to follow protocol’,” She mocked in faux deep authoritative voice. “And act like you knew where you were going without thinking that it would be easier to just listen to me in the first place…So, now, if you really want to find my room that badly, you can do it on your own, soldiers” She rambled attempting to look stern as she crossed her arms over her chest. Where the sudden boost in confidence had come from was anyone’s guess, but while she had the slight upper hand, she decided to run with it.

Clive was now fighting not to laugh as he mumbled, 'burn' but I gave him a leer that made him cease before looking back at Ms Harper, now becoming enraged. There was still the protocols as we could not throw her into the brig, but balling my fists standing before her I wanted this whole event over with so I can eat, as Clive was having his fun with it as he continued to look at Ms Harper's bristling black hair and her skin with that small frame all the while nodding to himself in satisfaction as she gave that little remark of findiing her place on our own.

Behind us two people came by, one after the other that we had to move to the side in order for them to slip through. They gave us rather demeaning looks for they were civilians as we seemed to be on their turf. That was when Clive snapped his fingers together, "Oh, now I remember who she is, you're-you're Tamara's friend! Yeah, Tamara, the head nurse of the infirmary. You're one of her nurses, right? That's how I remember you." Lifting up my eyes at Clive as he spoke then back down at Ms. Harper I was skeptical of this, lightly shaking my head as she continued to hold that rebel facade.

The smell coming from the mess hall was now intolerable. Desperately wanting to eat and not wanting to put up with this any longer I was debating whether or not just to let this woman go and get something to eat.

Hearing the ‘burn’ comment, a small smile crept onto April’s lips. She could hear obvious laughter threatening to spill from the man’s mouth, and, well… there was just something about being able to amuse a big tough army guy that made her happy. That paired with the fact that it seemed to piss off his partner even more made it that much sweeter.

Out of corner of her eyes, April spotted a pair walking down the corridor in their direction. Rolling her eyes, she stepped to the side to allow the couple to walk by. She knew who they were, but that’s not to say they were friends, or even got along. The woman just happened to be in the neighboring room and, let’s just say April heard a lot when they stayed in her room together.

Shaking the thoughts from her head, she turned as Clive suddenly realized who she was. Eyes wide, she nodded slowly and lifted a finger to touch the tip of her nose then pointed at him. “Bingo, soldier, sir.” She hummed then turned to the other nameless man with her thumb jutting back towards Clive. “See, your buddy here knows who I am. Vaugely. He fucked my friend in any case. I work in the infirmary, so I obviously have a good ID, or at very least a convincing fake one…” Once the words left her mouth, April grimaced slightly. Perhaps it wasn’t the best time to make jokes like that. “Anyway, now that we all know who I am, are you really going to make me go get my ID, or do you know enough to let me go? ‘Cause really, I’d like to go eat before lunchtime.” She rambled looking up into the man’s eyes, her hands wringing her jacket as she waited for a response.

"Go I, take off," scoffing and waving a hand dismissing her from my sight then rubbing my forehead as Clive couldn't help but laugh as Harper departed from us, leaving Clive to laugh, clap a hand on my back and continue to laugh louder at my perdictament, "Oh man," he said, "That was a good one. How could you not know, man?" As he laughed my hands turned into irsts, wanting to just hit the man and stop his laughter, but he could have easily broken me in two with his own hands.

Turning towards the mess hall we went back to get some food in our stomach but Clive continued to laugh leaving me to roll my eyes as he hung back. I was going to hear about this for a long, long time. So Clive knew of Tamara and apparently knew of Ms Harper as well, all because he screwed one of them. Somehow his pecker and his mouth were enough to defuse the situation but it was my lack of knowledge in the simple layout of the ship that was leaving me red face as we entered the mess hall and Clive's bloisterous laughter filling the interior leaving me to turn and asked "Who haven't you screwed?" I asked rather loudly but Clive was not embarassed in the slighest.

"Shouldn't you be tested for something as well?" I asked.

When the man scoffed at her and waived her off like some disloyal subject, April felt another smart comment brewing within her, but she held back to save all of them the trouble. The fact of the matter was she was given the okay to go about her day, and she planned to do so. “Thank you.” She hummed a bit sarcastically, and was a bit of an overdramatic breath she turned around and began her journey to the mess hall once again.

Intentional or not, she walked faster than normal in a grave attempted to put as much space between herself and the men as possible. The last thing she need was to get stuck in line with them right behind her.

As soon as the entrance to the cafeteria came into view, April spotted a friend resting against the wall near the door, looking very impatiently. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” April offered once she was close enough.
Hazel eyes flashed up at April, and then rolled as the redhead pushed away from the wall. “Late much?” Harmony asked, walking towards her. “What did you over sleep or something?”

“No.” April scowled. “The damn boys in blue stopped me.” She grumbled, point back behind her, where quite a few paces away Harmony could see two military personnel walking down the hall.

“For what?” She asked, cocking her head slightly, causing her whole body to shift just a bit. Though they were best friends, April did envy Harmony just a little based on looks alone. Harm was two years younger than her, and maybe an inch taller than her, but looked more her age then April did. With long wavy fiery red hair, dreamy hazel eyes, large supple breast, and a tight hour glass figure, April felt almost immature standing next to her, while at the bar anyway. Guys seem to glance right over her small form. That wasn’t to say that April had anything to be ashamed of; for her build, she was rather well proportioned with nice round breasts just smaller than a handful and a cute rounded little bottom. Still though… every now and then the insecurity would creep back in and April just had to do her best to ignore them.

“I dunno.” April mumbled as the two girls got in line for breakfast. “I was walking and all of a sudden they start hounding me for my ID, which I forgot.”

“Like always.” Harmony chimed in with a bright grin.

Sitting at the table trying to enjoy some liquid egg omlette stuffed with fresh vegatables the mess hall was rapudly filling with people. After this Clive and I were to finsih the rest of our rounds. It was our break and we were going to eat and enjoy as much of it as possible before having to go back and deal with some rather unsavory characters. Up till now Clive was rubbing the embarrrasment of Ms Harper in my face, but now, it had run it's course. Taking a paper napkin and rubbing his lps and dropping it onto his tray, "We've been out for how long? Over a year? WE're way past Pluto by now. We're in deep space."

"What's your point?" I asked cutting up my omlette with my fork.

"I'm just worried that the stir crazy will get worse. You know? I mean, we've seen people lose it, and after a couple of days they calm down, but what if it gets worse the further we get, the worse it will get?" It was know that it would get crazy going out into space, which is why we had physcologist on board, but no one really knew the stress that would be involved for deep space travel. He did have a point, but unless I saw it I did not let it bother me.

Changing the subject I asked Clive, "What did you think of Ms. Harper?"

"Very sweet," smiling and lightly bobbing his head.

"I mean aside from her body, dude, c'mon. We're suppose to keep them safe and inline. What do you make of her? Is she someone that won't cause trouble?"

"I believe so. She's with Tamara, and Tamara is good with her nurses, so, I don't think it's anything to worry about. She just forgot her card. That's all" holding up his largehands and dusting them off as if cleaning the matter away.

Trays in hand, the two girls made their way over to an empty table in a corner, giving them an amble view of the entire mess hall, meanwhile giving them just a bit of privacy to talk. “So, what’s going on in the infirm?” April asked, wanting to know just what to expect when she walked into work at 4.

“Same ol’ same ol’.” Harm shrugged as she took a sip of her orange juice. “Indigestion, runny nose, cough, ‘space headaches’.” She rolled her eyes and shook her head at the thought.

“Eh,” April scrunched up her nose as she swallowed a bit. “Anything interesting?”

“Oh, here’s on you might like; another crazy. Coincidently, military Sergeant; Older guy. Wife brought him in and said that he had been acting a little weird the past few days, and last night he finally started to scare him so she brought him in. Tamara tried to talk to him, but he wasn’t having any of it and started to get aggressive and combative. We shot him up and put him in an observation room for the night… I believe Tamara is waiting on you to come in to have a go at him, since you’re so good at it.”

“Oh, what fun.” April said dryly, as she took another bite. Very few people knew of her other talent besides being a nurse. But, the one’s that did, Tamara included, liked to use her as much as they could.

"Let's finish this and get going," I said finishing the omlette after a few more spirts of hot sauce as Clive gently sipped his orange juice to keep himself busy. "We got to go by the informary and then the the portside of the ship."

Nodding Clive kept his arms proped up on the stainless steel table with his large hands both holding up the small porcilien cup and savoring the last few drops of orange juice. This break was the halfway point in our shift and it seemed that after this everything always go down hill fast where more fights or disturbances occur that we would have to respond to.

Finishing off the omlette and wiping my face with the paper towel I nodded to Clive "Let's go" and rose up and dumped the waste intoa bin and the tray on top.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Ms Harper and another woman sitting at a table in the corner catching it up. The hatchway we needed to get to was along the way there, thus we would be going past them. I could feel myself changing as we approached with Clive right behind me, as usual and going past their table I did not wish to say anything that would further compound our first meeting. Giving them a quick wave Clive gave them a wink as we went out the hatch into the corridor.

For the sake of April’s sanity and her ability to carry on a conversation, she was rather thankful that from where she was sitting, her back was to the majority of the room and was facing the one side and the exit hatch. Being that after their little confrontation, April noted them headed to the mess hall, she knew they were in there, but the fact that she could not see them allowed her mind and body to settle down into a more comfortable and less hyperaware state. If her morning stayed like that, it would actually be quite pleasant.

But, of course, like that one bee that shows up uninvited to a picnic, Harmony had to be a buzz kill. For as soon as she saw the two soldiers walk towards them, she nudged April’s shin with her toe under the table, then as soon as she looked up, she subtly motioned to the men with a slight jerk of her head.

Almost naively, April looked up in the direction she was motioned, just in time to see the two men walk past. To the wave and the wink, the little brunette raised a brow, but then offered a vague smiled and not of the head. Once they were out of sight, April shot a look over at her friend. “What the hell?”

“What?” Harm giggled, sipping on her juice. “Come on, they were looking right at you as they came over. What was I supposed to do, let you ignore them?”

“Yes.”

“April!”

“What?” She asked, wiping offer her mouth with her napkin, the putting it down on her plate. “I’d just rather not think about suddenly being on their radar.”

“I don’t know why. They’re pretty cute for law sticklers.” Harmony grinned. “I know I wouldn’t mind being cornered by them.”

“Oh god.” April groaned, shaking her head and looking to the side, before flashing her eyes back up to her. “Can we go now?”

"Seriously, though," asking Clie as we went through the other compartments, "How do you do it?"

"Its not that hard, man," Clive laughed as he ducked his head through each passage way, "just a lot of working out and practice. You can do it to, if try it out." Going into a larger compartment and pulling to the side to allow other people through I shot him a look of disdain.

"How-how many women have you been with since we left?" I asked in a whisper so that no others could hear, "with all that...action, aren't you afraid of getting one of them pregnant?"

Pulling his lips back in a smile his response, "Always use protection."

As we went Clive explained that his actions were preventing him from suffering 'cabin fever' as it kept him occupied, though I question this as not real medical treatment, but he was doing alright for himself considering as we continued on through the narrow corridor. At last we made it to the midsection of the Hope where the room expanded and there weremore people in the 'maintenance area' where many of the vehicles we would use on Terra were being looked after. Tere was not enough room fo actual heavy driving, but there were several golf cart sized scooters moving about.

"That one, Harper, she's pretty fine. I woulnt mine making a pass on her, off duty mind you" nudging my shoulder with his elbow, "unless you wat to try first."
