Sonny Mehta passed away 30 Dec 2019, aged 77.
Mehta was the last great publisher of the Western World, leading Knopf and Doubleday, and heading Knopf since '87.
He published the greats of recent times: Germaine Greer (that's another name most young idiots - as opposed to us old idiots - have never heard of), and Salman Rushdie - and of course, my favorite, Jackie Collins.
He was responsible for publishing the 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' trilogy, and even that fake scam albeit successful con, 'Fifty Shades.'
Everyone in the big league is bound to be touched by the flaws of money desire and money lust, and he was, but so what in this case.
