Impersonation?

Person harassing my friend has created an account here to mislead others by using her personal details in stories and user mames to further slander a friend of mine.

They actually had encouraged others to come into my friends real life and assault her this way. Complaints to the FBI have been filed and she can provide the reports to the webmaster if needed.

Fortunately enough, we know the identity of the individual doing it as listed in the formal complaint with law enforcement.

What else can I (or my friend do) do to protect my friend on this site from further harm?

doesn't that sound like a helluva lot of trouble to go to considering that basically everyone on here is anonymous? i'm sure your friend's mother isn't going to stumble across the site, read a story and go, "oh no, that's my daughter!" i mean, in the vastness of the internet, what are the chances of anyone having the least clue about anything?

also, i have a story from personal experience. on an old defunct discussion board that i used to frequent someone got pissed at the moderator because he wouldn't do everything that the guy wanted. he contacted the fbi and falsely asserted that the guy was was using the board for child pornography. the fbi, in turn, made the moderator's life hell for a couple of weeks, even summoning him to their office and interrogating him. the moderator had a heart attack during all of it from the stress. so, be very careful bringing outsiders into the sphere of this site. it can turn into a real shit storm.
