Just cuz I am bored, I thought I should share this little bit of info.

So, my cat...the biter...has been dragging his ass on the carpet for the past couple of weeks. At first it was just once in a while...now it's like ALL the time!

So I did some searching on the net.

Looks like impacted anal glands might be the problem.

I even did some searching as to RECTIFY...the situation myself.

AIN'T gonna happen.

We got an appointment tomorrow at 6pm with a vet to expell his anal glands.

I'm gonna request that they bathe him afterwards.

Aren't you glad I shared this little bit of info?

That should be part of any normal pet bath. And I'm glad they do it so I don't have to!

Yeah, that was exactly what I was thinking. (mebe there is something to that stuff about lesbian brain chemistry ;) ).

Misty you should try to get the little guy to veer to the side when he rags his butt. That way you can tell people that you have special brown paisley carpeting instead of the more common brown tiger stripe kind.

I know some people with the same problem.

One night, at the hospital, we get a call from the sheriff to have a mop & bucket crew standing by for a new admission.

Its maybe 35 degrees outside, and up the drive comes a sheriff's car with all the windows down and the air conditioning on.

Oh! My!

We passed out face masks and remove his passenger from the car.

The passenger had congealed shit thickly caked on both legs. We blasted the legs with a garden hose and the feces dropped away like caked grass off the bottom of a lawn mower.

Stink! Jesus!

I thought only dogs had this issue. Ok time to take the boy and girl to the vet and get them "unimpacted". As the girl has been doing the drag her butt across the carpet, and well the boy has been "gleaking" when he gets excited.

He's still scootin his ass on the carpet, but not as much. Maybe he likes the way it feels.

When I brought him in, they took him back a another room. A few minutes later...everyone in the clinic could hear the LOUDEST screechin in the world. Sounded like they were killing him.

A minute later, the vet came back and said...Um, we're have some issues with August.

So I heard.

We'll have to sedate him.

Obviously.

Oh, no! Well, at least he got some good drugs for his anal experience. If he doesn't stop scooting, you might wanna worm him again. :rose:

Impacted anal glands..isnt that called STELLA OMEGA DISEASE?

Apparently August wasn't too keen on the Vet in that area of his body. Did he try to take out the Vet or just scare him off with the loud screaching?

Our old cat that passed away last year always thought the Vet was a scratching post :D
