I'm tired of Tornadoes. Really a lot.

I mean, couldn't they just go someplace else for awhile?

This is getting ridiculous.

We've got two on the ground, one traveling our direction, even. The other has gone north, getting ready to terrorize Nebraska, although they say it's losing strength.

They've reported power flashes (when a tornado that is on the ground takes down power lines) and large hail - up to baseball size.

I can quite honestly never remember this many storms in this short of a time. I'm getting tired of emergency preparedness.

Who wants rum?

Yeah, you'd better drink it up before it all gets blown away.

Great smilie, BTW.

Let's drink it in the cellar beautiful.

I hate twisters. A lot. :(

Oh, damn.

They just reported on the news that a tornado hit a Boy Scout camp in Iowa. Four people were killed and dozens injured. The storm destroyed every building in the camp.

Damn, damn, damn.

:(

Oh dear Lord. If I had a flagpole I'd lower the flag to half-staff for that one. Requiam in Pacet . . .

What a shame. Those poor kids. :(

We had a string of storms like that when the big tornado hit here a couple of years ago. It was one storm after another and people got so scared because of how totally horrible the big one was (killed 15 people in our county, I believe... or maybe it was 18?) I think that year, we ended up with several tornado warnings every month from February-November. Really, I'm surprised we've had such a mild year so far this year. It's abnormal.

We have yet another tornado on the ground.

All of this is headed our direction.

Significant damage in Salina, Kansas. It's moving northeast.

We have gathered flashlights and candles and all the typical preparedness things. The kids are asleep. We won't get them up and go downstairs unless we have to.

I need another drink.

Prayers for you and the Scouts.

It's still at least one county away. We're okay for now.

But we've set up a few things already - moved radios downstairs, set up chairs and blankets (I hate moving sleeping kids).

But - there is a large tornado on the ground in Junction City, KS right now. If you hear about this on the news tomorrow it's happening right now.

Large - more than a quarter-mile wide size, they say.

We're cautious and watchful. It isn't here yet.

Good. Glad you have such advance notice of where it's tracking. It gives you more time to get ready. Stay safe. :rose:

Go to the basement now!!

We don't want to lose the sexiest woman on Lit.

Yep, it was bad here that year too, but like you, this year has been amazingly smooth so far (knocking on wood as I post this).
