This guy truly is THE MAN. A few years ago he was suffering from testicular cancer which spread to his lungs and brain. Yesterday he won his third consecutive Tour de France - 2,100 miles.

Absolutely amazing.

I suppose that a guy who can recover from cancer to excel in his chosen field is admirable. I still don't get why SI, ESPN or TSN have it up their asses that Cycling is an interesting sport to watch. It's one of the most boring things they make me watch.

any sport that doesnt stop for an ad break seems to lose a lot of you people
lance will win the tour for the next 2 years
cycling is a sport riddled with drug abuse
lance has always claimed to be clean
lances [alleged] best friend on the tour is a doctor that has been convicted of supplying performance enhancing drugs [steroids] to cyclists

If he's taking drugs that have let him beat cancer and then win the Tour three straight years, then send me a batch.

Its disappointing that he won today and everyone said, "Well, if he's clean, it's a great acheivement, to have done this without taking drugs, which, I mean, is hard to believe." He gets drug tested all the time, so unless he's taking something that no one else is aware of, he'd get caught eventually.

He's also taken a very public stance against drug use, said countless times that he's clear, so if he WAS using drugs he'd be setting himself up for a big fall.

I enjoy watching the Tour, but what I don't like is that it always seems the race is over with three or four stages to go. The guy who comes through the mountains always seems to win, and short of a major accident the leader can't lose.

Hurrah for Lance. Show those Frenchies who's the boss of the bike!

Actually, NOT stopping for an ad break is a good thing. Ad breaks aren't there for our enjoyment really, but because they make money for the broadcasters. That's how the american capitalist system works. Which is fine, actually.

Even without commercials, cycling is a boring ass sport to watch. Even worse than European football. Yep.

He is a great testament to the will of humanity and the need to struggle. One of the building blocks and tenets of the original Star Trek.

He is America.
