I did the stupidest thing today. But good news for you (or not) is that I'll probably be on the boards more in the next few days, once the painkillers kick in. Here's what happened.

I was bringing my rabbit in from the porch today, and when I turned around to set her down, I took a step or something (I'm still not sure what happened, exactly) and hit my knee on the edge of the door frame. Ouch. Yeah, we've all done it. So after I stopped screaming and swearing and could walk again, I put some ice on it. All is well, ergo a little sore, until I get to work study today. Every step feels like my knee cap is slipping, and there's the grinding sensation along with it. My knee is also way too swollen and sore to have just bumped it, even as hard as I did. Enter hospital. Diagnosis? I split my knee cap clean in two. It's not displaced, so I'm in a brace type thing instead of a plaster cast, but I'm still off my sticks for 6-8 weeks. I feel like such a damn schmuck.

im sorry you hurt yourself:( sounds like something i would do. i hope you feel better soon. i know what its like to wear that damn brace. HUG

OUCH! I'm so sorry to hear you're in pain. I know the clutzy feeling though, I rank right up there with the best of them. I've sprained and/or fractured each of my ankles more than 3 times each. (I know, I'm pathetic) Will you need any kind of physical therapy? I had to do the therapy thing, but maybe that's because of the frequent injuries.

Take care of yourself, Patryn, I could suggest a few diversionary games for you if you like. I would offer to pray for a quick speedy efficent recovery or at least the ability to be patient about it, but i dont know if you even believe in that stuff. Just take it wasy on it and do as little as possible, its hard not to do anything when your used to doing lots of things. Thoughts are with you Patryn, even if you do hate me.

Ow. I'm sorry you are in pain, and you aren't the only klutz on the board.

I have fallen downstairs, while carrying a vacuum cleaner upstairs. I have caught my foot on the door, breaking two toes and a metatarsal.

I have fallen over nothing at all.

Rest up, read the board all day -- it will bring a new appreciation for General Hospital -- and get better.

I could only imagine how much pain you must be in Patryn. Hope you make a full recovery soon.:)

So Sorry...

Patryn I hope you mend quickly! That sounds so painful!

I can sympathize with the doing dumb things...I tore all of the ligaments in my right foot one time while dyeing my hair. That took talent! :D

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. Get lots of rest & do what the doctor says to take care of yourself. I hope you are up & around soon. I am also a major clutz, broken ankle, broken wrist, broken toes, all of them at least once & my left knee is about gone. I hope you can get some rest, will you have to wear the brace 24/7? I had a brace with my broken ankle, the best thing about it was that I could scratch when my leg itched. Take care!

Klutz? How about spraining both ankles, AT THE SAME TIME? That was "fun". Hope your 6 to 8 weeks flies by and that you have your Christmas shopping done already because you won't have much time when that brace comes off! :D
(Maybe just order Magic Lotion for everyone on your list? Adults only, of course.)

Sorry to hear that, been there done that.. i think everyone has done something like that one time in there life.... or mabe even two things like me

Id give ya a hug but id probably break something because im a klutz as well!! Hope ya got plenty of good books around sweetie!!

Man that sucks. I really hope you're feeling better soon and heal super quick. Do you have someone close by to take care of you? With like groceries, laundry and library runs cause you'll REALLY need that with the bed rest.
Well here's hoping your guy will come over and nurse you back to health!

Cool for us, she'll post more!

Big bummer for you! I'll be happy to loan you my fav hot/cold pack. If you need heat, microwave it, if you need cold, freeze it! I'll likely need it back soon, I'm due to fall up the stairs m'self any day now....maybe we could start a klutzes are us club? Take care!!

Let me add my name to the klutz list. You name it, I've sprained, broken, torn, pulled, or strained it. I'm completely serious; knees, elbows, wrists, ankles, shoulders, back, four of my toes, and every knuckle in both hands, plus stitches.

Hope you feel better soon!
