I need 5 unique facts from 2 CREDIBLE sources on these ONE of these topics

Internet Collaboration
Web-based tools
Media Literacy
Information Literacy

I really am stuck. I will probably fail this assignment and please don't give me shit I really am stuck. I've been working on this all afternoon and I want to just cry.

I think I will use google and move away from the school library.

Hey, no worries. We'll just break it down like fucking DJs. First, for basic research like that, I'd say always start with a google. It'll point you in the right direction.

What does your teacher define as a credible source? Would he or she accept Wikipedia?

If you just need facts for one of the topics, I think you should narrow things down and pick your poison. Do any of them jump out at you as more interesting than the others? You can find plenty of facts about all of those, so you can pick whichever you'd like.

So you're plan to pass this assignment on literacy is to reach out to the illiterates on Lit's GB? (no offense to the GB'rs)

I'd just stick with crying. You're screwed....

They won't take wiki but you can use wiki by finding the article and then going to the references. It's a good referral tool as much as anything.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with the dumbfuck here who has a butt ton of numbers after his name even though everyone on the internet knows that's a sure sign of stupid.

Hi sweetie, no Wikipedia. I started out with web-based tools and got very few facts on it. I've gone through all 4 topics this afternooon and I am burnt. I seem to get the most hits out of Information Literacy so I may use that one.

A credible source could be Google but they actually want us to use EBSCO Host or LexisNexis.

The good thing is I just found out I have until Sunday to turn this in.

Fuck off, I'm just trying to get some ideas. There are some pretty smart people here on the GB.

* flies you the bird*

See, Krackhead agrees with me...

Hmmm...web based tools. You mean like a browser, a website builder, an application for collecting email addresses? Actually, the tool you use here at Lit. called a Bulletin Board Service. Then there the FTP tools you use to upload or download information to and from a server.

I hope this helps.

The first web browser was called Mosaic. Here is the wiki link HERE.

Ok, cool! So credible credible. That's good. I don't know if I still have access to LexisNexis - will have to dig for it a little later. I think going with media literacy or information literacy is your best choice. If you do a google search for "(media/information) literacy journals," you should be able to find some publications in the space. You probably won't be able to click through to the full article without paying, but you can browse through the titles and abstracts/summaries. That might help you find some good keywords to use for LexisNexis. Glad you have some more time to work on it! I love when that happens, but then I usually end up leaving it to the last minute anyway.

Does someone have you talked into some Microsoft IT classes? Ugh.

You're in over your head.

What a dumb assignment. They should have asked when you stick your finger in your butt, why do your lips form an "O"?

Why would you cry?

The second you feel frustration, walk away for a half hour and not think about it.

Go eat a snack then go back to it.

I'm sure one of the know-it-alls here will gladly help you.
