We are the 3rd country to approve same sex marriages! Woo Hoo! Hooray for Canada!! Check out the full story at:

I hope more countries follow suit and see that taking this step will only provide a better community for all of their citizens not just a few. BTW, I am straight with a bi-curious streak so this news doesn't really affect me, but I am so happy for everyone this does affect!! :D And just in time for Canada Day too, there will be a lot of parties this weekend and not just to celebrate Canada's independence!! :D

I'm tickled pink! :eek:

That is so awesome! I went to Toronto recently and loved it. I've been wanting to move to Canada for a few years now, and I know I would like living in Toronto. Maybe someday! :D

Yay! :)
Thanks for posting the story, too...I hate not having canadian newspapers over this summer, I'm missing out on all the important stuff.

I think this a great thing for Canadians and a good thing for those of us that live elsewhere in the world. I think it's going to be interesting watching how this is going to affect society in Canada. Will the doomsday prophets of such an act be proven right? Or will all the scare tactics prove to be totally worthless? Time will answer these debates and the questions that rage around this issue. History is once again marching on and with a country the size of Canada, I'm sure there will be a lot of eyes on the repurcussions of this new era.

Well, most of the provinces already had legal same sex marriages, so it's not a big change in most places. The thing now is that it's across the country and available to all citizens. :)

I was in Banff Springs a few weeks ago, and couldn't believe how open everyone was! I loved it.

The paper had a beautiful wedding story about two men. I think one was a big deal in the Canada Ballet. It mentioned no politics...just love.

When I was in Niagara Falls we caught a TV show starring Scott Thompson (from Kids in the Hall) as a wedding arranger for two women. They even got Lea DeLaria to come sing at the wedding!

<waggishly>

As I told my best friend (who happens to be gay), "I'm going to have to rethink my whole 'anti-Canada' stance now."

<grin>

O! Canada!
