ENERGY I WILL GO INTO A BIT MORE DETAIL ABOUT THE

Okay...the concert!

Pink opened up the concert w/ "Get The Party Started".....
quite an explosive opening......lots of energy!!!

Songs in the concert include:
Missundastood
Just Like A Pill
Numb
Family Portrait
My Vietnam
Respect (not the Aretha Franklin song of course.....its a
"rap" from Pink's latest album)
Dear Diary
a few other songs including "Take Me Home" that she
came out with a couple years back....

Also she sang a medley of Janis Joplin songs including
"Summertime", "Me & Bobby McGee", and "Take a Piece
of My Heart" (a slide show rolled behind her w/ pics of
Janis and other musicians who have passed on i.e. Jimi
Hendrix, Bob Marley, Billie Holiday, Wendy O. Williams,
Karen Carpenter, etc.).....that was a nice little tribute
plus I swore that Pink sounded like Janis at times!

Also sang "What's Going On" from the 4 Non Blondes
in tribute to her idol, Linda Perry......Pink really did a great
job w/ the song.....

"Family Portrait" had a slide show thing going, w/ pictures
of.....of course, families in different shapes and forms.....quite
moving.......and the last picture on that slide show for the song
was a child touching the Vietnam wall in DC....

which led into "My Vietnam".....pretty spooky beginning w/ one
stage light acting like a helicopter light....and the keyboardist
playing an opening solo.......Pink was wearing a cut-off FDNY
tshirt for this one..........the slide show again was rolling w/
pictures from the Vietnam war plus pictures of different people, and
also the words "freedom" "power" "politics" "racism" "sexism"
"gay" "straight" "love........is all you need" among many....and the
last slide was the 3 NY firefighters putting up the American
flag up at Ground Zero on 9/11........Pink definitely wanted to send
out a message there.......amazing song I might add.

Pink finished out the show w/ "Don't Let Me Get Me"......she
certainly knows how to have fun on the stage and to be herself,
even getting the chance to accept flowers and sign autographs
from the stage while her band was still playing! Pink is a cutie
in person as she is on the album cover and in music videos.......

It's hard to say what the best songs out of her show were, because
they all were good.......but I'd have to say the best moving ones
were "My Vietnam" and "Family Portrait"........the best party one
was "Get the Party Started" and "Don't Let Me Get Me".......all her
show was good.......

There was an opening band....a girl-punk band ...."Candy Ass"......
they were pretty good though I couldnt' understand the words
due to the acoustics in the theatre.....

And here I was just thinking of the color and that this somehow related to... previous "bad" events in NYC. (Oh, the clever dodge of saying it!) I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "What, the color's been banned or something? What the hell? And who would be excited to see pi... oooooh. HAH. Artist." I'm slow today.
