When I was a little girl, we had this tradition: when my dad returned from a deployment (he would normally be at sea for 6-8 months at a time) we would spend a few days together as a family.

Then, on the weekend, my grandparents would come to visit and would take me home with them for a few days or sometimes even a week.

I'm 31 years old and only today did I realize *why* I got to visit my grandparents for the weekend after my father came home from being away for six months.

Duh!

I wonder how many of my siblings were conceived during my vacations.

Post Deployment

We had a joke we always told, about that.

Marine comes home from deployment and he takes a handful of green jelly beans and tosses them all over the back yard lawn.

He tells his two kids, "There's 25 green jelly beans out there... don't come back in the house until you've found all 25. Then goes into the house and he and his wife get re-aquainted.

"Hurry, it won't take long for the kids to find 25 jelly beans." the wife says.

"It will when I only scattered 24," the horny marine replies.

Not just having sex but sending me away for several days so they could do it loud, often and openly. That's the difficult part to imagine.
