I'm returning to work on Lit stories and...

I was just curious, is it worth continuing on with a story saga I've left dormant for a year-plus now? Its called Caribbean Cruise, and I worked my way up to the sixth chapter - I put the series under Novels/Novella, though it does have strong incest themes.

I was wondering what everyone thought about going back to some old work on a public site like this one. My own personal thoughts was that there might just be a few of the people interested in this series still around and reading on this site, but the ones who might have been waiting from week to week for me to post a new chapter have probably moved on, or wouldn't be interested in picking up on the story again.

By the way, I have just submitted the seventh chapter of this series not ten minutes ago, but I'm not too sure how this will be received because of the extreme delay.

Would love to hear what other people think. Is it worth continuing on with a series after such a long absence?

I say it's worth it in and of itself to give you a feeling of completion. If it's a story that you want to finish, then that's all the justification you need to do it. Your readers will most likely appreciate it as well, even though it's been a while if they liked the story enough to read 6 chapters they should be happy to see the story picking up again, even if they have to go back and refresh their memories on what happened so far.

In my opinion, it is always better to finish a series than leave it hanging, I even think it's better to pull a story if a writer has no intention of finishing it.

hehe yeh well, I have posted a little note at the start of each chapter to say to read the previous chapters before continuing on. I've also wrote a little apology message at the end of the story that I've just submitted. Gah, sometimes you just don't have all the time you'd like!
